This morning only a couple of minutes before 5am, I was surfing around when I came upon Fox News. Bill O'Reilly was closing out his show with him reading off a few viewers emails and him giving a small response to each one. One of them defended FreeRepublic, saying that doing a search, Daily Kos had thousands of certain cuss words, and FR had none. O'Reilly's response to that was: "FreeRepublic Needs A Monitor. It Has None." (And then he moved on to another email)
"..Alan Novak, Wichita, KS: "Comparing the Free Republic to the Daily Kos, I searched the F-word. Daily Kos, almost seven thousand mentions. Free Republic, none.""
Yoo, O'Really?... I thought FR didn't have a monitor! Then who did that? God? You?
I thought you ran a no spin zone? Your comments about FR are SPIN!
Don’t worry Bill, most of us still, may watch ya, with “caution!”, as you put it.
“Except in feuds like this, there is never a point where things are even.”
Sure there is. Stop watching his show. Stop listening to his show. 100,000 viewers less in the arbitrons makes a big difference.
I think O’Reilly is nothing more than a gutless populist.
He is trying to cast himself as a “centrist” to go along with his supposed “no spin zone” hype, thinking that will glean the biggest audience. He obviously swallows the leftist BS about Fox News being “far right”, so in his own little mind, by dissing FR he imagines himself proving to the lefties that he feels their pain.
I gave up listening to him when he discounted the SwiftBoat Vets.
Ditto
LOL!! Thank you for not mentioning that someone else had already mentioned the Posting Police I shoulda read the whole thing!
Regarding the rest, there's sometimes a fine line between viewpoint discrimination and thread "hijacking." But I am often amazed at the vitriol spewed by people who try to read others' minds or intentions and go for the jugular over reading comprehension errors, lazy misunderstandings, awkward wordings, et cetera. Thankfully, the hotheads themselves often can't take the heat around here and are usually called out.
I usually do not reply to those who's posts are so far out or just plain wanting to start a keyboard fight.
I like your response:

After finally hitting the learning curve, I too am avoiding the jerks and just trying to stay focused on the issues. This forum is a gift from God. You meet very intelligent and passionate patriots here.
FReegards,
BOR has never felt the sting of the ZOT!!!!!!
Bill O’Reilly needs a full-time monitor...... to ensure that his most idiotic thoughts are kept off the air or at least promptly corrected.
He has none.
I agree with you.
But O’Reilly is late to this party. The Dems have been looking for a way to bring the Fairness Doctrine back ever since Reagan eliminated it.
If we get a Dem Congress and President, it’ll be back.
The 2007 FreeRepublic Lexicon inadvertently omitted the commonly used acronym "BOR", but I now believe that this omission was just as well, as I don't think that acronym is as good a fit as we Freepers are capable of generating.
I observe that our presently-used "BOR" acronym is weak in that it fails to make enough emphasis of the final syllable of O'Reilly's last name. Without an indicator for that trailing long "e", the simple acronym "BOR" is not all that it could be.
I am convinced that this must be remedied, and, to that end, I assert that the OFFICIAL 'FRacronym' for Bill O'Reilly ought, henceforth, be "BORE".
O’Reilly has a monitor - it’s called an audience, and I’m not a member. Haven’t been for quite some time. I prefer to watch re-runs of CSI instead of hearing BORing’s latest big-government solution to someone’s individual, personal problem.
Someone should send him a list of abuse button pushes and the articles/posts involved.
For the same reason that the liberals do - because good citizens are a threat to their own plans and motives. Silencing ones' enemies is an ancient technique.
Bill O’Reilly needs a full time bore-ometer. He has none.
Free Republic really does a splendid job in creating and protecting the decency level of this terrific web forum for all of her visitors.
Bill, why don't you talk to John Kerry and his wife, Teresa about foul and low class gutterances and while you are at it, the Clintons for their revolting obnoxious trashy behavior while residing in the WH.
Now those two examples for fine cultured etiquette and civil manner want to do it all over again, spreading their dysfunctional warped ineptitude into our lives.
You cannot really say those things here. I did the best I could. Especially since this is an article about our having or not having monitors! Come on!
You bet it is. I got it from my daddy, and don’t know where he got it, but I like it! It gets the message across.
