[history]
This morning only a couple of minutes before 5am, I was surfing around when I came upon Fox News. Bill O'Reilly was closing out his show with him reading off a few viewers emails and him giving a small response to each one. One of them defended FreeRepublic, saying that doing a search, Daily Kos had thousands of certain cuss words, and FR had none. O'Reilly's response to that was: "FreeRepublic Needs A Monitor. It Has None." (And then he moved on to another email)
"..Alan Novak, Wichita, KS: "Comparing the Free Republic to the Daily Kos, I searched the F-word. Daily Kos, almost seven thousand mentions. Free Republic, none.""

FR’s new theme song:
I love little baby ducks, old pick-up trucks, slow-moving trains, and rain
I love little country streams, sleep without dreams, sunday school in may,
And hay
And I love you too
I love leaves in the wind, pictures of my friends, birds in the world, and squirrels
I love coffee in a cup, little fuzzy pups, bourbon in a glass, and grass and I love you too
I love honest open smiles, kisses from a child, tomatoes on the vine, and onions
I love winners when they cry, losers when they try, music when its good, and life
Mr O’Reilly, I just feel so warm and fuzzy now. Please like us.......NOT

Au contraire, Bill. FR has hundreds of 'monitors' in the form of members who will stomp on anyone getting out of line. All they have to do is hit that abuse button, and the Moderators will handle the situation. It happens every day.

I think what we are all missing is that th KOS sicked Bill O'Reilly on us. Without researching the entire situation, Bill jump on us so he could look fair and balanced. There are plenty of hate sites out there O'Reilly could have jumped on, but he played the fool and what after the people that KOS suggested.
If BOR can not get this kind of reporting correct, what else is he getting wrong or has gotten wrong?
I will not trust his commentary anymore.

I don’t have cable, so I haven’t seen one second of his cable program. I’m surprised that it’s still on!

The Bloviator seems to be monitoring Free Republic just fine.
To: unspun
I believe the phrase was "...needs a full time monitor. It has none."True. I stand corrected. :-)
To: lowbridge
And as far as I can tell, FR actually has around the clock monitors. Now how about News Corporatin's "myspace.com," which has become the hook-up directory for pedophile rapists around the country, Mr. O'Reilly?
How are they doing, despite their "monitors?"

The PC managers dont know anything about anything but if they get the impression I am on a hate site, things will not go well for me.https://www.the-cloak.com/

Thanks. :-) But only one half the caption is mine. I didnt draw that cartoon. I grabbed that cartoon somewhere off the internet (it already had the caption: “What are you in for”) and the words on the door was “Principal’s Office”. I added the caption: “Posted a paris hilton thread in breaking news”, and changed the name on the door to “FR moderators office” :-)

Things didn't go all that well for the signers of the Declaration of Independence, either.

I heard the O'Reilly segment and Kristinn's comments were reasonable. O'Reilly expects FR to pay for full time professional monitors, but he didn't offer to contribute, I noticed. Kristinn made the point that some enemies of FR log on and post things that denigrate FR in the eyes of many. As soon as these are identified, they are removed. I thought it was well-handled by Kristinn, followed by typical O'Reilly pontificating.
If you work for people who would be offended by that exchange, I suggest you look for a better situation.
