Bob Novak stopped by the Heritage Foundation today for a lunchtime discussion with conservative bloggers about his new professional autobiography, The Prince of Darkness. While he lamented the practice of reporters acting as opinion drivers and news analysts, Novak wasn't shy about offering a few opinions of his own. When asked to rate the current field of Republican presidential candidates, Novak didn't have any kind words for the current top-tier field of Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney and John McCain.

"Yup, maybe after trade school I’ll dun bes learned enough to be a “real conservative” so I cans understand them thar big political idears..."/p>
"Freebird!"
Oh and by the way you Paul guys are indeed invitied to join us in dealing with 21st Century Geo-Politics when you are ready...
How is having a Kucinich-like foreign policy “conservative”?
Of course we would.
Our membership in the UN is pursuant to a treaty made by the Senate.
In the very unlikely circumstance that Ron Paul were to become President he could not unilaterally void a treaty.

recent article by Ron Paul
Shows this guy is out of touch.
How many people out there are really afraid?
Sure he can, he’s the mighty Paul...
Because the admins @ Freerepublic allow me to.
Why do you support a candidate that is so wrong on foreign policy, that it aids our enemies?
Ron Paul, who is a libertarian and not a conservative, is largely criticized by actual conservatives because his positions on foreign policy are dangerous to the Republic and border on conspiracy theory, not because he would make a poor Nashville lyricist.
To a point, but as a Congress critter he has for several years submitted leg. that:
- Relinquishing all U.S. participation in the United Nations and any subsidiary groups and agreements.
— Removing the U.N. headquarters out of New York City and revoking all of its governmental privileges.
— Ending U.S. financial support for U.N. operational and “peacekeeping” missions.
I’m sure, in his budget, there would be no room for funding the UN.
I'm not a Paul supporter, but why do people make these ridiculously uninformed statements about the guy, like this one. Kucinich was a fervant supporter of Kofi Annan and is a fervant supporter of the United Nations. Paul wants to pull out of the United Nations. Their foreign policy is similar why? Because they agree on on one foreign policy area - Iraq? George Bush's foreign policy is closer to Kucinich's than Ron Paul's.
Novak’s opinion on anything has come to mean little to nothing, mostly nothing.
Nothing like pointing out a group of folks who actually believe a Washington Country Club Think Tank is a greater threat to our nation than the terrorist who have already demonstrated they are.
Who do you think writes copy on Wikipedia?
It is user created content, i.e., some Paulistinian wrote all of the stuff about Ron Paul on the Wikipedia site.

Paul and Kucinich are in exact agreement on Iraq, Iran, Israel/Palestine, Lebanon, etc.
In other words, I am supposed to believe that Ron Paul is the Constitution's last defender based on the word of a crew of morons who demonstrably know nothing about the Constitution.
Ron Paul is too libertarian. His best case scenario about marriage is just unrealistic and crazy. If the gov’t recognizes individuals, then it makes sense that the gov’t should recognize how individuals come into being and are nutured into adulthood, at which time they make up the whole we call a Nation. Individuals don’t just pop into existence at 18.
Well back before the Cold War was ended by that Liberal SOB Reagan...
At this point I’m not supporting any candidate, but FR criticism of Paul and deification of Thompson (by essentially the same group of “conservative” posters) are evidence of a serious disconnect from the reality of the positions they have taken over the years.
