Chief Justice John Roberts Suffered Seizure, Remains in Hospital
Monday, July 30, 2007
WASHINGTON — Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts suffered what is being described by doctors as a "benign idiopathic seizure" after falling Monday at his summer home in Maine.
He is staying in Penobscot Bay Medical Center overnight for observation, court officials told FOX News.

God Bless Justice Roberts.
It's all in the neurotransmitters. Sounds like Roberts' neurotransmitters went haywire today and he'll probably be on some kind of seizure meds for awhile.
I’m surprised there’s a DUmmie that can spell “Constitution”, much less figure out what it means.
benign seizure. Tests showed no permanent damage.
#####Alexander also had seizures.#####
You are correct. In fact, it helped Alexander because in his day it was thought that a seizure was a sign that someone was in contact with the gods. People thought the gods must have chosen Alexander to lead them.
I thought that was how Souter was explained to us; since he was originally billed as a conservative. Yeah RIGHT!
Yeah, so much for the HIPPA privacy rights. Those were not written to protect conservatives apparently.
He’s probably staying at the hospital overnight to watch him due to the fall more than due to the seizure. They’ll be trying to keep him awake all night due to the fall. He may have had a mild concussion or hurt his neck when he fell. The seizure imo led to the mild traumatic brain injury due to the fall. There should be no release of medical information unless his family authorizes it. So far, they’ve tried to give a bare bones update which is what they’re supposed to do.
Prayers for Justice Roberts!
You missed it-—he already did.
There are different triggers for seizures and they are more common than the public is led to believe. There’s kind of a stigma imo. There are varying degrees and different kinds of seizures. The public at large pictures someone writing on the ground swallowing their tongue. That’s only one example of a kind of seizure.
Make sure if you buy spring bottled water, it's not public water. Get real spring or distilled water. Even tap water can cause seizures.
Wow - thanks for that recounting. Bet that was a bit scary. There are a lot of things that bring on “episodes” - a friend of mine has meniere’s disease and episodes send her spinning down to the floor.....and yes she can feel them coming on now so knows to lie down before she falls down. Got to be totally unfun.
My prayers are with Justice Roberts. America needs him. But honestly, in my heart of hearts, I believe he’ll be okay.
Food allergies can cause the brain go to haywire or some of the new energy drinks can mess up the brain. I’m thinking it was stress from work, something he ate or drank that he doesn’t usually have or his neurotransmitters just needed to do some housecleaning. Medications can cause seizures but usually in people over 65: like Ativan.
One last thing, though: I’m sure that being the victim of liberal assault is one of the things that hurts him. Raving demoniacs like Charles Schumer don’t help the poor man. May God bless the good wing of the SCOTUS.
PET scans show more than mris or cat scans. Even so, PET scans are not definitive. Neurology doesn’t have all the answers. Could be as simple as a food or drink allergy. Seriesly.
Yes, if was dehydrated and drank the wrong thing for it, that could trigger a seizure. Sports/energy drinks are not safe for everybody. If one of his hip friends gave him a sports drink, that could have made him crash.
Typo correction: someone writhing on the ground not WRITING on the ground. (I need to go write on the ground now).
