HOUSTON, Texas (CNN) A woman screaming youre not a real conservative, sir was removed by police from a welcoming reception for likely GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson Wednesday morning. A second protester was also taken from the room.
Houston police officers escorted the woman as well as a man from the hangar at Hobby Airport, where Thompson was shaking hands with a crowd of supporters. They were not arrested.
The woman questioned Thompson as he talked to reporters. She asked him why he was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and noted that the organization supported the North American Union with Canada and Mexico.

That's interesting, this being a conservative site and all.
So does the CFR like this site, promote or support smaller government, less taxes, a sovereign country, and secured borders?
No, not like congress. You don’t join congress, or just become a member, you get elected.
Probably every organization in the world has active members that do not have America's best interest in mind. I guess if being a member of a particular organization would help me to have access to information and/or the exchange of ideas that would help me better understand and/or better influence policy decisions (at whatever level -- corporate, city, state, etc.) then I would consider being a member even if other members of the organization held ideals that I find unacceptable.
No offense taken, RR. For one thing, my voice is a few octaves lower than hers was, and I would have hit that cop with my cane. :)
I am sure they type faster than me.
As for Fred’s positions, please direct us all to a website where we all can see them.
Thank you vey kindly for the lovely conversation.
OK.
Well, I have this fax from a Kinko's in Texas...
So, follow me on this: Kinko is a clown name. Kinky is a Texas politician's name. Ron Paul is also from Texas, which is a Southwestern state. Next to Texas is New Mexico, another SW state, and home of the Roswell sightings!!!. Next to NM, is yet another SW state, Arizona. McCain is the senator from AZ, and he pushed through Campaign Finance Reform with Fred Thompson's help.
Campaign Finance Reform = CFR = Council on Foreign Relations.
Coincidence? Or plot by brainsucking Clowns From Romulus (CFR!!!)?
Have you heard of HSWs or Stormfronters? People don't join necessarily because they agree with the principle of this site.
The CFR researches all sides of issues.. I've seen policy papers where they support all of those things.. at that, in the infamous NAU briefing, one of the conclusions was an option where each country lock down the borders and increase entry controls.. so you could say (to the second part) yes..
It is the same principle.
Should no conservatives go on Hardball because liberals will be there? Of course not.
I, for one, am not afraid of the marketplace of ideas; conservative ideas win every time.
“So does the CFR like this site, promote or support smaller government, less taxes, a sovereign country, and secured borders?”
The correct-thinking members of the organization, do, of course.
The CFR provides a forum. A blank slate. A marketplace of ideas. That’s it.
The mass hysteria over a think tank would be funny, were it not so sad.
That's interesting, this being a conservative site and all.

The CFR researches all sides of issues
I was told earlier they don't have any positions either and the CFR is like Hardball, the television show where they just debate stuff.
So unlike this site, that we belong to, they don't come out and say, or spell out specifically what it is they support?
Listen more closely next time. It's not Thompson who isn't ready for prime time.
If you really want to learn more about the Council on Foreign Relations, read, “The New World Order”, by Robertson,
- or send a check or money order in the amount of $2.00 for one, or $10 for ten copies of “Who Controls America” to: F.R.E.E., P.O. Box 293339, Kerrville, Texas 78029
Oh, so they don't support anything, have no policy, nor do they have any positions on the issues.
I see.
