Protester removed from Fred Thompson event
CNN Political Ticker ^ | 07/25/07 | Steve Brusk

HOUSTON, Texas (CNN) – A woman screaming “you’re not a real conservative, sir” was removed by police from a welcoming reception for likely GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson Wednesday morning. A second protester was also taken from the room.

Houston police officers escorted the woman — as well as a man — from the hangar at Hobby Airport, where Thompson was shaking hands with a crowd of supporters. They were not arrested.

The woman questioned Thompson as he talked to reporters. She asked him why he was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and noted that the organization supported the North American Union with Canada and Mexico.

Note this is an excerpt.

Do the guests at Hardball have the same position?

Oh, so the CFR is much like a television show in this regard?

Trying to be honest here, I guess what you're saying here is, some in the organization do not have America's best interest in mind, while others do?

Some members do, some do not

This is an American organization right?

Would you become a member of an organization that had active members involved that did not have America's best interest in mind?

"I'm sure that as time goes on you'll hear more from him, and when he decides it is time to formally declare his candidacy, you'll hear even more."

Come on VRW, you've been here longer than me and you know FReepers respect decisive conservative candidates. This one is big and we don't need a reluctant torch bearer. Haven't the waters been tested enough? Hell he's leading in most polls. Why not jump in and show some good ole American fighting spirit? Continually dipping your toe in conservative waters to see if it's too hot doesn't instill a sense of leadership.

Agreed, thats what I expected him to say when asked about CFR. I am glad he got that out of the way.

Whoa! New evidence! That seals it. I'm supporting Paul. The Truth about 9/11 (and the clowns complicity in it) must be known!

By the way... any proof that's a photo of a known member of CFR?

You shouldn’t be spreading that around.. people need their boogey-men.. one day the CFR, the next it’s the Trilateral Commission, another day it is the Buildacheeseburgers.. if people knew what the CFR really ways, they would die of boredom..

Is this an American organization? If so, why would members of an American organization not have America's best interest in mind?

I don't know the answer to that. Some democrats appear to not have America's best interst in mind, and some republicans seem the same way. Perhaps some Americans consider themselves members of the overall human community ahead of citizens of this country. I don't know what their motivations would be.

Perhaps you can find answers about CFR here: http://www.cfr.org/about/

The bottom line is that I don't think being a member of the CFR equates to being a global dominionist out to destroy the sovereignty of the US.

Nuts come in every flavor, I guess.

I'd like to know if she's a genuine wackdoodle or a rent-a-loon.

Has she been ID'd?

No, I actually read the endless personal insults that come from your club. In fact, it reminds me of the official reactions to the Harriet Miers mess-We were all sexists in that one,
and the Comprehensive Immigration Reform response-We are all racist.

I think everyone should feel proud to defend their guy’s positions. If you can’t defend his positions, then don’t.

I responded to a general query.
I did not think he should leave here disillusioned.

Sad to say, but even we Conservatives have some players more than a half-bubble off plumb...

Here in Texas... we move most of them north of the Red River...

Come on, Jokelahoma... that's funny!

You are a member here aren't you? I'm sure there are some here who are active members who don't have America's best interest in mind. You'll find this in any organization... the CFR was originally an American organization, however, if you look through their policy papers, they produce these for other countries as well and have members from all around the world.

I responded to a general query. I did not think he should leave here disillusioned.

Your post was the sixth reply to his "general query". Of the five replies before yours, one was a "they fear Fred" comment, and the other four were informational posts that pointed to, cited, or quoted Fred's answer to the question. Not a single one was an insult or questioning the motives of the poster for asking the question. The only post that even approached being an insult was yours in which you stated he wouldn't get an answer, only questioning of his motives for asking the question. Judging from the replies he got, I seriously doubt he would "leave here disillusioned," but then maybe I have a higher opinion of his intellect than you do.

I think everyone should feel proud to defend their guy’s positions. If you can’t defend his positions, then don’t.

I am proud to defend Fred's positions, especially when it comes to defending them from people who misrepresent his votes, who falsely attribute quotations to him that he never said, and claim that he won't answer a question just because they don't like the way he answered it.
