I thought that the Dem mantra from Somalia to Serbia/Kosovo to the Sudan was “We must save the ____ people from civil wars and genocide.”

He's being honest. That is healthy.
In recent years, a polarity-flip has occurred in U.S. politics. Many/most? of the people considered the "right" are, in fact, mostly liberal interventionists. The people considered "liberals", on the "left", are in fact mostly isolationist America-firsters. That's just the way it is now.
The only real problem is that so few acknowledge it as openly as Obama just did.

Obama the (crypto-)Sunni Muslim Socialist (shades of Saddam) will watch a genocide with glee.
Vietnam, Cambodia, Rwanda... Democrats just LOVE genocides.

Hmm. I wonder if he ever criticized the US for NOT getting involved in the genocide in Rwanda. I’d be willing to bet that he did.

From a supposedly serious candidate for the office of POTUS? That’s just pitiful.

Imagine if during WWII a Democrat spoke these words?
GENOCIDE NOT GOOD ENOUGH REASON FOR 400,OOO AMERICANS TO DIE IN EUROPE
SLAVERY NOT GOOD ENOUGH REASON TO FIGHT CIVIL WAR
To: torchthemummy
I can get bothered about this only to the extent that he is daring to say something that runs contrary to the the supposed inarguability of the humanitarian position supporting a continued US presence in Iraq. While I do not agree with him in his overall position on Iraq, I would give him good marks for his tendency to speak what is on his mind. There does not seem to be a lot of pander coming from Obama and were I a Democratic primary voter (which I am not), I would certainly at this point consider him much more preferable that Madame Clinton.

Get a load of this!Well? He's right. Of course the same applies in Darfur which I don't think he would agree with.
