The U.S. command said Wednesday the highest-ranking Iraqi in the leadership of al-Qaida in Iraq has been arrested, adding that information from him indicates the group's foreign-based leadership wields considerable influence over the Iraqi chapter.

Khaled Abdul-Fattah Dawoud Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, also known as Abu Shahid, was captured in Mosul on July 4, said Brig. Gen. Kevin Bergner, a military spokesman.

"Al-Mashhadani is believed to be the most senior Iraqi in the al-Qaida in Iraq network," Bergner said. He said al-Mashhadani was a close associate of Abu Ayub al-Masri, the Egyptian-born head of al-Qaida in Iraq.

While good Americans produce results, Commie Senators agitate for death and destruction.

Won’t hurt the dem’s at all, they’ve been doing it successfully for decades. All you have to do is promise the sheeple more money in their pockets for not doing anything and keep racism and class warfare alive and well. They succeed on all counts. And it’s all so disheartening...

—al-Mashhadani—

It's always "al-Mashhadani", "al-Mashhadani", "al-Mashhadani"!

So much for the Democrats' lie Al Qaeda In Iraq has nothing to do with the Al Qaeda led by Osama Bin Laden!

He’s probably already got his burkah on and left to find another hole in the ground.

I’d say he was in Abu(nch of)Shahid about now. Maybe a marsh Arab without a paddle?

I will say that I’d prefer it if all our military had to do was hose little pieces of Shahid into the gutter, rather than picking up one big hunk.

I hope your right but why would Zawahiri want some goon located in Iraq to know where he is hiding out. He only has to be reminded about what happened to the Zman.

This wasn’t a run of the mill goon...he was in the inner circle. They used info from him to nail the AQI southern commander in southern Baghdad over the weekend. They have had two weeks to bleed him of info....watch for some up tempo stuff in Iraq and the tribal areas....in the coming days.

Sounds good to me. And I am sure you are accurate in your prediction about more disruptions within their network that will come to past shortly.
But that was not my point. Zawahari was almost taken out not that long ago, due to good HUMIT. Why would he want anyone outside of his immediate door step to know where he hides at this point.

He had to communicate with someone in Iraq.....this was that contact. Masri is to busy ....running for his very life..to stay connected.

“In his words, the Islamic State of Iraq is a front organization that masks the foreign influence and leadership within al-Qaida in Iraq in an attempt to put an Iraqi face on the leadership of al-Qaida in Iraq,” Bergner said

Iraqis just don’t train fast enough to take over? That’s a vaguely familiar sentiment.
I wonder if any AQ leadership got into strategy arguments where one said to the other, “When the Iraqis stand up, we can stand down!”

I have no problem with what you say. But Masri is not the only contact they would have at a higher echelon. With how their mid-managment and some top management are being captured/killed they can't afford to have but a few shadowy figures actually making contact with slightly less shadowy figures as far as what orders/correspondence transfers.
Why risk having someone in a position to get captured know where Zawahari may be holed up on any given day.
But let us hope you are correct and they finally nail the sneaky rotten rug head. It would put a real shock into the goons that follow this clown.

foreign-based leadership?

Would that be the Democrats?

He wouldn’t know where Zawahiri was on a daily basis....he would give us his general location....also....I would guess some of the communications may have been done via email....he would give us that.... which will give you another location to zero in on.

Let us hope your thoughts are correct. But do understand, his email address gives not the slightest clue as to where he is. All the email address ISP info will show is what country the subscriber used to sign up. TCP information grabbed via. and by chance successful sniffer programs our people use to track Internet and other type traffic in some cases, likewise will not pin point where one is actually at. You can be anywhere in the world that will allow you to make a connection unto the Internet, and with your laptop be moving along at sixty miles per hour and long gone from where some Satelite Intercept signal in time originates.
We will get him only if good HUMIT points the finger to where he is at a given time, and the country he is actually in allows our Special Forces to go in after him, or our Navy/Marine/Airforce to quickly launch a strike.
