I wish someone would've addressed one of the main reasons for the antagonism toward illegals: their demands for their "rights", as evidenced by their protests and demonstrations, all the while waving their mexican flags and denouncing the U.S. That is what awakened the "Sleeping Giant" of the American citizenry.
Agree and of course no one wants to mention the threat that such uncontrolled immigration, LEGAL AND ILLEGAL, from Latin America will have on the future of this country. To do so, would be considered racist and politically incorrect.
Such investigations should be done by the MSM, but they would rather perpetuate the image of the hardworking immigrant, legal and “undocumented,” rather than focus on the costs and other negative aspects of unregulated immigration into this country. And the corporate masters who own the MSM don’t want that revealed.
Brilliant quote, needed to be repeated.!!
I agree we finally had to close Finsbury Park Mosque because of this and I am certain there are many more we need to close
I’m in.
THOMPSON BUMMER

snip....
What a bummer.
It was a dry, lofty, legalistic pontification more appropriate for the Federalist Society. No, correct that - more appropriate for a group of Federalist Society interns. If you wanted to put the interns to sleep.

He ain't it, folks. Let me assure you from personal experience, he's no Ronald Reagan. I saw Reagan speak many times, and the "Reagan Magic" of energy, optimism, and electrifying charisma Fred Thompson does not have.
snip....
What upset me most about his speech, however, is that it was insulting to the audience. Fred Thompson is not a stupid man. He is a very bright guy and he knew exactly what this audience wanted, an audience composed of almost every leader in the entire conservative movement - and he on purpose did not give it to them. It was almost childish. "I know what you want but you can't have it, hahaha" seemed to be the message. Maybe not. Maybe not because Thompson can't give conservatives what they want, he hasn't got enough energy to do so. Whatever his reasons and capabilities, I was seriously turned off and so was just about everyone else.
Very good plan. Your suggestions are all so rational - and if people really wanted to solve this problem they could, by addressing it in the same way a successful business solves its problems. But in this case, there are so many hidden agendas, political agendas that the people involved don't want to admit to or talk about. I think your plan needs to address that aspect of things - how to bring the hidden agendas out into the open and deal with them.
Absolutely but what gets me why people do not see through this especially when they attack him regarding fish when it well known he is fly fisherman. If there was any justification in this the fisherman groups and socities would be baying for his head.
re: Leahy
You wanna go back to Iran Contra or what? I’m in. Fmail you later. Gotta try to find tape from the floor as well.
You do so at the peril of being called a racist, bigot, nativist, anti, know-nothing, anti-immigrant, anti-American, etc. and that is just from the WH and RINOs.
Absolutely
I heard snippets of a talk that Fred Thompson gave this Spring, but I thought it was in California, and he put everyone in the audience to sleep.
He sounds great on radio reading prepared statements, but I do not think he will weather well in the heat of the actual campaign, when he has to talk extemporaneously. He came across as seriously lacking in energy.
And as others have said, he will marginalize what is left of the Republican party into a Southern regional party.
I believe it may have been re-opened now but it was quite a sight on a Friday to see the Imam conducting the Friday service in the middle of road because they could not get into the mosque.
Not sure why you waste your breath MNJ? FR has become the rightwing version of DU. Nobody wants to discuss the issues they only want to beat their chests and show how conservative they are.
I am glad the bill went down since it was a bad bill that was going to hurt business. That said there were good points in the bill like funding the fence and documenting illegals.
Those could have been starting points however Crock Radio wanted to shout Shamnisty and bash the President so every point was torn apart and any Republican that supported it was destroyed as well.
This is a very troubling developement for Free Speech. Rather than discussing pros and cons of issues we only have emotion filled catch phrases to throw out the baby w/the bathwater.
We will never have a bill since every bill will be called Shamnesty and what politician can withstand the heat. Immigration has become another Third Rail of politics. You are exactly right that this is no way to discuss such an important issue.
Immigration will be addressed seriously right after SSI is solved.
Pray for W and Our Troops
