I had to google Bill Lee & Clinton to get this.

In an attempt to keep alive Bill Lann Lee's chances to head the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, Senate Democrats blocked a vote on his nomination by the Judiciary Committee.

Your Nuggets just get better and better every week Anita, here is a little deeper look at one of your links:

Here is the last line in the story:

“but the broader point is that reporters, especially AP Reporters, are very much a part of the stories they cover”

A comment that should send chills into every editor in the country yet doesn’t in today’s msm/print community(at least what is left of it)

3. Guest worker.

That is just another shellgame shuffle.

One Congresscritter said recently that we already have 7 guest worker programs on the books.

I found this and this. I cannot access the 2nd because I am at work. I think part of the reason they do not total up enemy KIA is that brings the body counts from Vietnam to too many Americans minds.

This one is a month old.

This one I cannot acess from here.

Americas North Shore Journal

At least 2237 terrorists have been killed in both Afghanistan and Iraq. For constantly updated information, check out America’s North Shore Journal. […] ...

Then there is this last one which I have no way of knowing how credible it is

The reason there is so much money spent on elections in this country is that there is so much government money being spent, a campaign contribution is an investment.

Like the campaign contributions made by people looking for government grants for stem-cell research, federal money spent on union contracts in local school districts, large corporate farms who would rather hire cheap illegal stoop labor than buy machines to replace those workers, etc.

And, as an American, I have never understood why the British continue to fund the royal family, which has not had a useful purpose since they stopped being material for Monty Python. I guess everybody has a bad spending habit. :)

“Congress tried to combine the two issues for sheer political gain and got busted by an overwhelming majority of the populace. So great it collapsed phone systems.”

IMO, the obvious follow-up to last week would start as soon as the critters get back from break. The American people need to then start deluging their offices with calls, emails and faxes to start enforcing the laws already on the books. If funding is needed, get it...but break the status quo that politicians all said was unacceptable. Mere enforcement of present laws will end the status quo. If nothing is done to follow-up what happened last week, both the D’s and the R’s will be blaming the failure of CIR for every perceivable ill that faces the nation.

Each of those positions is being pushed by a different group of constituents. DC pols were trying to make everybody happy. Ended up being a sausage fest where nobody knew what was in the bill and most didn’t want to.

Israel seems to understand this.

Which is why they don't have any terrorist attacks within Israel.

Good Morning y’all

I’m watching Chrissy Matthews .. he and his panel think the republican party is crumbling and republican senators are losing support of Iraq and General Petraeus

All because of that stupid speech Lugar made on the senate floor

On Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace even lined up against Mark Green because he was talking out of both sides of his mouth on the fairness doctrine..it was funny as heck.

That was also the assessment of the MTP panel. We'll see about that.

Agreed we have let too many in from our former colonies and they were already unhappy with us from being under colonial rule.

It is interesting that many who have remained in the former colonies and not come to Britain when they had the right to - many do not as we have now limited immigration from these countries - the people that have remained if not publicly but often privately point out they were better off when they were a British colony.

It is those who have left their country often because they were probably in some sort of criminal trouble there that are more vocal and anti British people.

Yes we have created the problem for ourselves but it was unfortunately done for the best of motives because governments felt that certain people might be in danger to remain if it was thought they have cooperated with the former colonial power.

Testimony of
The Honorable Michael Chertoff
Assistant Attorney General, Criminal Division
United States Department of Justice

February 28, 2007

snip

SBI Ends Catch and Release

Apprehension Rates Declined: Beginning in the third quarter, FY 2006 showed a marked decrease in the apprehension rate due, in principle, to the end of “catch and release,” the implementation of Operation Jump Start, and the expanded use of expedited removal procedures, among other factors. The graph below [not available on this webpage] provides historical data by fiscal year for total apprehensions of both Mexican and non-Mexican aliens between U.S. ports of entry. CBP’s Office of Border Patrol (OBP) made nearly 100,000 fewer apprehensions in FY 2006 than in FY 2005 due to these factors. This decline is represented below by quarter, with the drop in apprehension rates corresponding to the implementation of Operation Jump Start in the third quarter of FY 2006 and the full implementation of “catch and return” in FY 2007.

We did some numbers on that last week, it’s always about 10:1 or even more, but don’t look for the msm to cover that.
Your turn today TX are you ready?

Now they are saying that none of the benchmark will be met and we will redeploy

Most of the panel say most of the republicans will hold their fire until General Petraeus gives his report .. then will turn

They think there will be 67 votes to over turn the policy
