The Supreme Court split 5-4 in striking down voluntary integration programs in Louisville and Seattle today. The opinions were authored by the Chief Justice.

IOW, don’t voluntarily go using race as a criterion when there is no court ruling, and therefore no judicially recognized evidence that discrimination exists. Quotas can only be used as a remedy when there is a judicial recognition that actual discrimination exists. That’s how I read it.

Good News Bump! I will give credit to Bush on his SCOTUS nominees (although we had quite the battle on one).

Here’s what a find disappointing about this decision and so many of the other 5-4 conservative “victories”:

When the liberals assemble a majority and issue an opinion, such as the one striking down teenage murderer death sentences and invalidating anti-sodomy statutes, they issue a sweeping, unqualified decision that moves the ball appreciably to the left.

When the conservatives get 5 votes, invariably one of the justices (now Kennedy but formerly O’Connor) waffles somewhat and refuses to go the distance, as in the Seattle/Louisville cases. There’s always a lack of courage to do the right thing when it really comes down to it.

Not so fast! IF we get rid of the RINOS, then we'll come back! The GOP is NOT conservative at this point, and based on their actions in the future will determine if we all come back. I'm a conservative first and a Republican second.

The RNC doesn't have a monopoly on advancing conservative candidates or causes. I feel my money is better invested directly supporting conservative candidates for office rather than through the RNC.

Here is what bothers me about the whole immigration fiasco, we forget that it was started by two Dimm governors who declared a state of emergency in their states. I believe that it was a planned effort to turn the base against Bush and the Hispanic vote against the GOP after seeing how the Bush family went after the Hispanic vote. They knew where we were going to land on the issue and that Bush was going to go the other way.

At the same time, it was an issue that needed to be addressed, but when it comes to the border and the WOT, regardless of what is going on at the border, Bush and this administration has done one hell of a job protecting us from another attack. For every one attack they tell us they have prevented, their is probably 10 we don't hear about.

Given the population of some states a hard core conservative will not win. Better for us to win some of these states with a mushy moderate and at least get control then to cede to the left everything.
