Given the population of some states a hard core conservative will not win. Better for us to win some of these states with a mushy moderate and at least get control then to cede to the left everything.

I wouldn’t go there yet, Fred or Hunter can win and that is where we need to throw our support during the primaries.

I'm sorry, but that sounds like a real cop-out to me. Why not invest in EDUCATING the people in those districts as to why a conservative is a better choice than playing a game such as what you propose?

The average citizens is not as stupid as a lot of people in politics seem to think -- most never even hear WHY socialist/Democrat proposals are bad. If you educate people then we'll have a real chance at keeping our country safe from socialism.

Arguing that we'll just go slower isn't an option at this point. So many so-called Republicans are pushing their own socialist agendas that people are already confused as to what the Republican party really stands for. More candidates that could run under either party's banner will NOT help the situation, and will not stop our country from "going left". Only an educated populace will stop it, and that includes offering people a REAL choice, and REAL explanations instead of feel-good, wishy-washy politicians who are afraid to stand on principle and explain WHY...

Is there any wonder the average citizen has such a low view of politicians when both major parties adopt attitudes such as this?
