Here we are again my friends, hopefully for the last debate thread on this particular monstrous legislation. Proceedings are supposed to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST, with the cloture vote being taken at 10:30 a.m.
On a personal note, you've all been wonderful in your passion, vigilance, and commitment to the principles on which our country was founded. If I have to be in a foxhole, I want to be in it with you guys.
They would not have built the fence anyway. All the enforcement in this bill (what little there was) would have been ignored as they have ignored enforcement for the last 20 years.
They’d probably rather just have the cash.
What you don't seem to understand is that the Dems were not going to build the fence or increase border security with this bill either. Both the 1986 and the 2006 bills (that are law) provided for increased border security (building the fence 2006) and look what we got! Nada! That's exactly what we would have gotten with this POS: amnesty but no border security.
*groan*
the swimmer’s pontificating
I just tried to phone DC and circuits are busy. I left a message thanking him at the Huntsville office. The message said they would return the call. Trying to find out when Sessions will be back in DC.
I must say you did a great job Dumas...By the way..my ancestors owned your town or at least their cousins. LOL. Well since I’m sure you won’t be back until the next go round it was great fun messin’ with ya. :)~
Both.
He’d get my vote!!
It isn't even close - it's Bush, Lott, McCain and Kyl. This was a no-lose situation for Reid.
Tell the girlyman loser Reid how you feel about his crushing defeat ! I did !

Congatulations, Guenevere! Nitey, nite.
Well, I’d like him to get as many flowers as possible, instead of just one big bouquet, so it depends on what we decide to do.
They may prefer the cash.....but I’d rather send flowers....cash can be sent for campaigning.
This is only for thanking....
I called McConnell’s Bowling Green office and said I was happy he voted NO. The staffer said the staffers are happy about that too.
“It didnt look good how the process was so rigged. In the end, we honor the Lord for this great victory!”
Amen to that - Thank you Lord!

I’ve alway like Sen.Byrd. He reminds me of a character out of Inherit the Wind (the monkey trial movie with Spencer Tracy). He was completely loyal to West Virginia people and they are loyal to him. He accomplished much for that state. I heard him speak in his younger days. Let me tell you, modern politicians can not speak this way-what a command of the english language Sen. Byrd had.
“Because the GOP and the Dems are on the same team. If you can’t see that by now, you haven’t been paying attention.”
I see that the GOP has some libs in it. I do not see wholesale both parties being the same except in the abstract.
Yeah Teddy, the work didn’t end when you lied in ‘65, and five other times after re: amnesty.
It didn’t end when a girl was gasping for breathe left in a car at Chappaquidick either.
