Agree. My ex-Brother In Law decided he was homo, not hetero, and changed to that life style after being a husband and father for many years. So why do many people believe that homo “orientation” is so irrevocable? Remember Ann Heche, the actress, she changed and have many others.

I honestly believe homo orientation is an addiction. (no puns, please)

After all, it's not genetic nor is it instinct.

And your proof of that statement...????

This question is like asking "Can people with musical ability change that if they really want to?"

or

Can left-handers change to right-handers if they really want to?"

Every homosexual I have ever talked to said they were that way as early as they could remember. None of them "chose" to be that way - they just are.

Why would anyone "choose" to be something that most of society despises? That makes no sense.

Maybe. Is it learned behavior or innate? (If due to a gene, will we find the libs coming out against abortion, if it is to abort a "gay" baby?)

FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)

I agree — it is a debased/debasing psychosis.

Ask a gay person if they are willing to give up their way of life in exchange for being straight. The answer is usually a resounding 'no'.

I think you'd be surprised. It's all in the question asked and the type of person asked. A couple of homosexual acquaintances have told me flat out that they would rather have been born straight (have "straight" urges toward the opposite sex.) A lot of them see no way out, and resign themselves early on to what they are told (by the militant recruiters) is their lot in life.

You'd be more accurate saying: Ask a gay activist if they are willing to give up their lifestyle in exchange for being straight and get a resounding 'no.' Those who are honest enough to openly give you the truth will admit what a lonely, desperate, tortured existence it is. Who would choose that, given the choice?

You are quite right.

I think one class of person has been demonized to the point where maybe their free will is compromised.

I don’t say it’s easy to change. And it tends to take a long time sort of an instant ZAP miracle—which Dennis Jernigan had . . . but for most, it’s a dogged long term mental and behavioral discipline that many are not willing to pay the price to achieve.

Rebellion is almost always easy . . . at the time.

Yes, it is!

Many have left the homosexual lifestyle and the number of ex-gays continues to grow.

There is no evidence of a gay gene despite what the radical homosexual activists say. And confessions such as Richard Weller's continue to demonstrate homosexuals can leave the lifestyle.

It's too bad people couldn't read some of the links here before voting in that CNN poll...

Dennis Jernigan...

Indeed. His testimony of leaving the homosexual lifestyle is excellent—I have it... somewhere.

It’s on one of his music CD’s. I forget which one. One of the first 4, I think.

I find his music exceedingly moving to my spirit, heart, mind, soul, BTW.

But his conversion to hetero was easy! ZAP! in a worship service that Anne Herring was leading . . . and felt led to metion a Word of Knowledge from the platform that pinged him specifically.

I think there are a lot of people who--because of childhood abuse, lack of parenting/modeling, etc--have decided that they are gay and live that way, but in actuality are not homosexual at all...just a little screwed up.

I think that with help these folks could change.

I Do Exist!

I have this excellent 50 minute video. It tells the story of 5 ex-gays and is great for showing to friends who might think homosexuals are born that way.

No.
It’s pretty obvious they can’t change who they’re attracted to.

The good news is that they do have a choice. It will be a radical choice, but a choice nonetheless.

Well, my father was left-handed as a child. His second-grade teacher subscribed to the antiquated school of thought that being left-hand-dominant was an abberation, and sought to correct said abberation in my father. Consequently, my father is now, and has been for the greater part of his life, right handed.

You may wish to choose another analogy.

Can a behavior be changed?

Can a person truly change a sexual behavior? smoking? drinking? wife swaping?
