Hi everyone. I have been granted press access as a blogger at Thursday's Democrat debate. As such, I will have full access to the candidates who appear as well as their staffs.
What questions would you like me to ask them or the media?
Thanks,

Ask them, which program that subsidized failure or misconduct, ever actually solved a social problem?
Ask them how piling layers upon layers of bureaucracy in education made education more efficient, or more able to handle the unique, very individualistic entity that is the mind of a particular child?

Will you take a pledge not to raise taxes?
If not, why?
If you anticipate raising taxes, please specify the income levels that would be affected. Will you take a pledge not to raise taxes on the income levels that you have indicated will not be affected?
That’s a good question, too.
Here’s my reasoning behind asking Democrat presidential candidates whether they want to win in Iraq. No matter which way they answer, yes or no, they screw themselves. If they answer yes, they enrage their kook base; and if they answer no, they reveal themselves to normal Americans as being the defeatists they truly are.
Happy 7 years of Freeping!
Put them on the spot by showing the conflict in their positions. Ask:
“Mexican laborers are performing work on American soil, without organization, that would otherwise be performed by American union labor. Do you favor legislation that provides legitimacy to these Mexican laborers, and if so how will you explain to union-member voters how this will protect their jobs?”
Do you agree with President Bush when he describes Islam as a Religion of Peace?
ML/NJ
Please explain your understanding of the difference between charity and “social programs”.
As a followup question,
Do you believe that advocating wealth redistribution through social programs satisfies your individual obligation to help the needy and poor?
(oops ...too early to celebrate...happy 6 yrs and 11 months?)
Having said that “knowing what you know now”, you would not have gone into Ira; how do you explain to President Clinton, Sandy Berger, Madeline Albright, Senator Ted Kennedy, Senator John Kerry, Al Gore and others... that they were wrong about THEIR remarks about Iraq PRIOR to the Bush Administration??
Why was very little done to combat Bin Laden when he declared war on the US back in 1998?
After admonishing the military for the poor quality of care at Walter Reed, how do you then turn around and propose government healthcare for all?
Should deeply religious Christians be PERMITTED to run for or serve in elected or appointed US Federal-level offices?
Ask about the space program. In particular if the Moon, Mars and Beyond program will continue or be accelerated. Also about the 1967 UN Outer Space Treaty.
I doubt any of them know anything about either, but of course that doubles the entertainment when you ask.
Ask them if they are sorry they cut off funds to Vietnam, thereby causing the slaughter of millions in the area.
Dumb question as most were not in congress at the time. Second, they will point out how great Vietnam is and how we are trading with them and that it is the next vacation spot for Americans which is a true statement...10 years from now, Americans will flock there...seriously.
I like the concept.
More ideas for this?
Who do you trust to invest your money more? The federal government or yourself? WHY? Do you believe FEMA did a great job with the aftermath of Katrina/Rita/Wilma in 2005? If you believe the federal government should have our funds, why do you think they can do a better job than FEMA?
"What commitments are you willing to make to the American people about the Bush tax cuts? What commitments are you willing to make regarding tax rates in general?"
REVEREND Al Sharpton ran for President. The answer is that deeply religious CONSERVATIVE Christians should not run for elected office.
Thanks, sometimes I’ll riff off of someone else’s question. And you are correct, the reply is to the Dems, not challenging the politics of the FReeper I’m replying to.
At times, a deeper question (or rephrasing) is nice to see as a “Reply”. I don’t always have the time to read a 100+ reply thread but if I a post that is particularly interesting (pro or con) it is convenient to be able to click “view replies”. That may also hold true for others.
The attempt is being made to compare talk of the threat from radical Islamists to the “Red Scare” regardling global Communism in the 1920s-1990s (with a fever pitch after WWII, 1947-1963). The Left denied the Soviets had influence and then changed their tune to say that the Communists never meant us any harm.
Then there are proud naked Communists like Jane Fonda who proudly proclaimed we would all love being Communists if we only knew what it really was.
It is politically incorrect to consider these groups a threat. They just want to improve your life (and not give you an option of accepting their way).
2. Will I ever see you sitting next to me in a doctor's waiting room after you nationalize health care?
3. How do you justify earmarks and other legislation done in secret?
4. How do you plan to negotiate with those who rejoice when their children blow themselves up?
5. What are you going to do to fix Social Security?
6. Do you support amnesty for ILLEGAL aliens
6-a. Do you really think that a minority thinks that it is OK if the criminal who breaks into his house and steals his possessions is of the same ethnic/cultural background?
6-b. Since we didn't transport the 20+ million ILLEGALS INTO the U.S., why should we transport them back home?
7. What, exactly, is the benefit of the United Nations?
8. Why are we funding multiple terrorist groups throughout the world?
9. Why is China allowed to drill in the Gulf og Mexico and we cannot?
10. How comfortable are you with our refinery capacity?
11. Why aren't Congress members subject to the same Social security "retirement" and the health care benefits that we are?
12. Why can't the Federal Gov't "squeeze by" on $2.7 TRILLION?
Best one yet!
