VIEWPOINT: GLOBAL WARMING NATURAL, MAY END WITHIN 20 YEARS http://researchnews.osu.edu/archive/nowarm.htm

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Global warming is a natural geological process that could begin to reverse itself within 10 to 20 years, predicts an Ohio State University researcher.

The researcher suggests that atmospheric carbon dioxide -- often thought of as a key "greenhouse gas" -- is not the cause of global warming. The opposite is most likely to be true, according to Robert Essenhigh, E.G. Bailey Professor of Energy Conservation in Ohio State's Department of Mechanical Engineering. It is the rising global temperatures that are naturally increasing the levels of carbon dioxide, not the other way around, he says.

Essenhigh explains his position in a "viewpoint" article in the current issue of the journal Chemical Innovation, published by the American Chemical Society.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "According to Essenhigh's estimations, Earth may reach a peak in the current temperature profile within the next 10 to 20 years, and then it could begin to cool into a new ice age." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Many people blame global warming on carbon dioxide sent into the atmosphere from burning fossil fuels in man-made devices such as automobiles and power plants. Essenhigh believes these people fail to account for the much greater amount of carbon dioxide that enters -- and leaves -- the atmosphere as part of the natural cycle of water exchange from, and back into, the sea and vegetation.

Just yesterday there were an infinite number of times the temperature was cooler than it was an infinite number of times today.

And it will be the same tomorrow.. and the next day!

How long before the enviro-weenies force a groveling retraction to be broadcast by the DBM?

10-20 years is long enough for the left to use it to destroy capitalist economies and institute socialism. Unfortunately, when they do that the time-frame of the damage is likely to be far longer.

We can’t do a thing to change the climate but if it goes back to a serious ice age that will be a real challenge to civilization. Let it warm, let it warm, let it warm.

One of the natural processes of a planet coming out of an ice age is for it to heat up.

Essenhigh knows that his scientific opinion is a minority one. As far as he knows, he's the only person who's linked global warming and carbon dioxide in this particular way. But he maintains his evaluations represent an improvement on those of the majority opinion, because they are logically rigorous and includes water vapor as a far more significant factor than in other studies.

"If there are flaws in these propositions, I'm listening," he wrote in his Chemical Innovation paper. "But if there are objections, let's have them with the numbers."

This is the way science is supposed to work.

Whenever someone argues by claiming a “consensus of scientists,” or by attacking motives, or attacking the individual, they are making invalid arguments.

On this topic, global warming alarmists have clearly given inadequate attention to clouds, and to the sun. Variations in the Earth's orbit and variability stemming from the Earth’s molten core should be investigated further. The current climate hype focuses on one effect, carbon dioxide.

Carbon dioxide is necessary for life and is no more a pollutant than oxygen. At less that .04% of the atmosphere, it is more likely that we have too little carbon dioxide than too much.

The journal of Chemical Innovation ceased publication December 1991. And Professor Essenhigh mysteriously disappeared in January 1992.

Of course they will claim to have saved the Earth, but they are just fooling themselves. Unlike me, of course. I actually did save the Earth from the Y2K bug once, back in my I.T. Consulting days 8 years or so ago. Yeah, little ol’ me....

Enjoy global warming while we have it, because sooner or later, the ice ages return.

This why the Greens are so hysterical about getting all these new laws passed so they can take credit for the natural cooling to come starting in 10 years. They cant wait to tell us how they saved the earth from burning up.

B I N G O !

Everyone remember the "Population Bomb", or the "Acid Rain", or the "Ozone Hole" that was going to destroy everything on Earth?

Obviously, these events never actually happened, because of the outstanding efforts of the "Greens" and how they managed to save our planet.

B A R F !

What are you talking about?

Essenhigh is listed on the current Ohio State Website.

Here is a note from last month (May, 2007) on the website about faculty meembers in the news at Ohio State:

“Business Week, May 28. Robert Essenhigh, professor of mechanical engineering. Essenhigh wrote a letter to the editor in which he argued that there are clean options for burning coal for energy which will make coal more environmentally friendly.”

“I am a baseball researcher.”

Thanks for this research. I now fully understand why the 1993 to present day Pittsburgh Pirates are an absolute sickening joke of a team when poor management is mixed with your research :-)!

Does that explain why he cited sources from 1995 in the article? Can he see four years into the future? If so, the true import of this article is his vision of the future using ESP.

And all you IT guys got out of Y2K was megatons of money. At least you didn’t try to micromanage everyone else’s lives (except for the thing about the extra two digits in the date ;-) ).

The interesting thing....is when the big chill comes...the Greens can’t offer any solutions and will have to help the poor Canadians move south....out of the new arctic zone.
