SOFIA, Bulgaria - President Bush, turning from adulation in the Balkans to difficulties back home, said Monday that his stalled immigration overhaul would be revived and his embattled attorney general would not fall under a Senate vote of no-confidence. ADVERTISEMENT

"I'll see you at the bill signing," Bush said confidently about an immigration bill that has run into deep trouble on Capitol Hill.

The media needs to ask President Bush about his future plans and about the land in Paraguay!

> Who else is serously thinking about moving back to Europe?

Only if you want to fast forward to deep socialism.

EU is further down the road of destruction than we are. The French may be wising up, but they are too late.

Our best bet is to hold on and fight.

The media also needs to ask Bush if he will sign the totalization agreement with Mexico re Social Security and while they are at it ask about the North America Union. The media is falling down on their job..

Re: “2) NEW legislation to ELIMINATE ANCHOR-BABY scam. (No foreign National parent IN THE U.S. gets automatic citizenship for their offspring while in this country)

I TOTALLY AGREE!

From some other bloggers:

“Illegals are ineligible for some public assistance programs, but ARE able to receive them ON BEHALF of their American-born baby.”

The so-called anchor babies are insured by the 14th amendment, which was intended to secure rights for the former slaves in this country.”

And -
“For most countries, if you are born at home, you obviously inherit your parents’ national identity. If you are born away from home, you still get your parents’ national identity. For example, if an American couple is in Canada on vacation and has a baby, that child is an American citizen and would not even be eligible for Canadian citizenship, and so goes most of the world. Why should we let these illegal invaders use this as a cheap means of obtaining an unlawful citizenship?”

HOWEVER -

It will be Hard to change the 14 Amencment with this Democrat majority!

I agree.

Romney
Tancredo
Thompson

All are fine by me, but a G-man or McCain are not, and those are the guys that appear to be the front runners. They are the ones who have the money, the press likes them (Of course), and some in the Republican Party are working on the assumption that these guys are “centric” and “electable”.

It’s about issues and where these guys stand. If someone calls himself conservative, he can not be open minded on the gay issue, he can’t be for big government, he shouldn’t support abortion, have messed up family affairs, nor should he play the reinterpretation game with what the second amendment states so clearly in plain English. The fact that Giuliani is one of the front men in this race is an insult to those who call themselves conservative. McCain with his anti-torture bill, or his attempts to score some cheap political points with his push for mandatory drug testing for baseball players when that was a big issue…….. McCain is a political opportunist whose been trying to hard for to long to line everything up for his run to the office of Presidency He may be powerful within the Party, but people ultimately don’t trust him because he’s the consummate politician. He’s a member of every organization he can get his claws on, but probably knows nothing about them except their affiliations. He’s a career politician who’s made his living from politics since 1982……. He’ll play with the Democrats when it’s in his favor, but then wants to be strong and stand firm on Iraq; give me a break, the guy is a politician who’s lost sight of what it’s about. Not the type of guy I want as my President either. The Republicans have some good candidates, but neither of the two front runners fit that description.

It’s time to build that wall around the DC beltway and turn off their water and electricity.

Great idea!

I am not asking just for the sake of arguing.

Truly, I’m curious how you can support the President when he so adamant about giving illegals a free ride — on the backs of American tax payers.

Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina are the closest things the continent has to a Western European-style culture — nothing like the squalor of our neighbor to the immediate south. In fact, for decades Montevideo’s been known as the “Paris of South America.” Add the reports that the 90,000-acre property the Bush family bought last October is located on a vast natural aquifer and has an airfield with a 12,000-foot runway, with guaranteed government protection from any and all comers, and it’s easy to hear the tinfoil crinkling...

This is not over yet. Bush refuses to give up this easily. It's his stuborn character. He will try to resurect it and call it something else. We have to keep our guard up. We need to keep the pressure up.

STAGE TWO is to go after the people who hire illegals. Start giving them fines and arresting them. Just catch ten or 100 of them on the nightly news. The magnet will dry up and most of the 12 million will go home by themselves.

As an adendum, we should anonymously call the IRS, people working "off the books" means taxes ain't being paid. Make anonymous fliers and hang them around the neighborhood, name names. It's time to embarras these bustards, whether they give to the GOP or Rats, we don't need them.

STOP AMNESTY NOW!! WE CAN DO IT!!

CALL! CALL! CALL! CALL! AND KEEP CALLING TILL THE LINES FRY!

WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!

Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.

You say that President Bush has killed the base that supported him. Is not that just a little bit self important? I am the base, and I am not dead. A lot of you Bush bashers need to realize the world is much larger than yourselves.

Oops! I believe people are talking about America, not the world.

Take a look at GWB's approval rating.

More than a few are not too happy with his vision of North America.

>>>>I believe you wholeheartedly, enthusiastically supported Mel Martinez for senator.

>>>>Any change of heart now?

Of course not, because of who the two candidates in the election where.

Mel is and was very wrong on the immigration question, but I will not make the foolish mistake that so many conservatives make; that if I do not agree with a candidate 100%, I will not vote for them or support them in any way.

For example, at this point, I support Fred Thompson. I like him.... and we did pretty well with an actor the last time....

Of the current Rs, I probably like Guliani the least... but I like him, in fact love him, way more than any Dem running, and would support him if he were to win the nomination.

To say one should support only candidates one agrees with 100% if the height of conceit, and sure way to ensure the man you like 99% never gets elected.

Perfect is the enemy of excellent.

We’ll see...He’s in a neighboring district to me, and I’ve met and conversed with him personally on many occasions and events over the years...

I think he’s ok...He and I both agree to dissagree on many things, but his principles are solid...I like the known factor he bring to certain issues...And like I say, I don’t agree with some of the stuff he does...

He’ll tell you he still likes to try and get me to crossover to that political line of thinking...But I counter that I’m making a principled stand and stick to what I believe in...And truthfully we are not that far apart on some issues...

I was at a conference here in Houston a few years ago, and had him and Badnarik sitting on either side of me at our table for that event...Talk about being sandwiched...

BTW, there is no need to assume the libertarians were teaching anyone a lesson in ‘06...That was an implosion of the Republican party leadership, begining to demonstrate to us that they are indeed infalable...

The Friendswood city counselman that appears to be another challenger seems to have some support, not so much to oust Paul, but its seems to be a general feeling that those folks in that district want a change...

If I didn’t know any better, I’d swear that our government was trying to deliberately provoke a violent reaction from the citizenry...oh wait...I don’t know any better. The question is, why?
