BUSH CHIDES FELLOW REPUBS FOR OPPOSING HIS FLAKEY AMNESTY DEAL

BUSH CHIDES FELLOW REPUBS FOR OPPOSING HIS FLAKEY AMNESTY DEAL

When your plumbing springs a leak, the first thing anyone with an IQ higher than a clam does is turn off the water—that’s why it’s so hard for our good citizens to understand why President Bush doesn’t secure our borders and ports first instead of submitting promises and a repeat of the failed 1986 amnesty.

The amnesty deal Bush negotiated with Democrats and ‘open border’ Republicans will turn the U.S. into another Venezuela. Consider that the number of illegal aliens within our shores is not precisely known; most estimates range anywhere from 12 to 20 million. Unfortunately these are only ‘guesstimates’ no one actually knows how many there are. Some claim it could be 30 million or higher. If each amnestied illegal only brings in four relatives, our population will increase anywhere from 48 to 120 million and perhaps more.

Bush’s open ended amnesty welcomes anyone who can provide a piece of paper that they arrived in the U.S. before 1 January. People from all over the world will be knocking on our door and if no one answers they will sneak in. There is no limit on the number of illegal aliens who will be amnestied nor are there severe penalties for fraud.

Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me! Only a fool repeats his mistakes but President Bush and Senators Kennedy and McCain are leading the charge to repeat the mistakes of the 1986 amnesty. The 1986 bill directly led to the estimated 12-30 million illegal aliens that are within our borders today.

Lies, more lies and damned lies. Despite assurances from Senator Kennedy that the 1986 amnesty would stop illegal immigration; the 1986 bill encouraged millions to enter the country illegally in the hope of future amnesties. In 1986, voters were assured that amnesty was a one time occurrence that would never be repeated. Is it any wonder that Americans can’t trust their politicians?

If the VP quits, the President names another. The job doesn’t go to Pelousy or named by the Rats.

Oh goodie. Which way is the President leaning on the immigration bill? Do you think he would name a replacement who disagrees with him?

Cheney is an elected official. He does not serve at the pleasure of the President, as a cabinet officer. He serves us. Your response to my question is a complete nonsequitur.

Elected officials do not resign because another elected official acts in a manner that is inappropriate.

That is the way it is. Try again.

I switched to Independent in the last 2 wks. When Congress put forth this travesty of a shamnesty bill and Bush started pushing it I switched.

That is plain ignorant. Ever heard of “Senate Confirmation?”

Yeah and so what! Ever heard of Presidential perogative.

You are stating that my reply to the ignorant post you made about Nancy Pelosi being named VP if Cheney resigns is ignorant.

Let me ask you what grade you are in grammar school because you obviously haven’t reached that point in social studies. Even Nixon with all his issues nominated Gerald Ford who was easily installed as VP.

But please, go and explain to us how Nancy Pelosi is going to get George Bush to nominate and install her VP. Totally moronic!

I agree. I suspect these GOP senators — especially those who are facing re-election next year — are going to toss Bush overboard on this one.

Oh, sorry. I did not know you were in ridiculous conspiracy land. Please go on and don't bother pinging me again, OK? I don't want to hear about your grassy knoll.

I don't know crap about this "Pelosi" person. There is no natural progression from Speaker to VP if the VP resigns. That is not relevant. You are suggesting the Vice President resign because he does not like the President's position on something.

I don't know nothin' 'bout no damn conspiracies.

I hope this serves as a reminder to conservatives that just because a candidate makes noise about abortion, it doesn’t make them a conservative.

> Bush is insulting the American people by claiming we haven’t read and don’t understand what is in the immigration bill. We do understand it and we don’t like it one bit.

Exactly. Saying, “Oh, you don’t like it, that means you’re stupid” is not going to fly. Very, very angry with Bush right now. How dare he “chide” us for defending American sovereignty?? While we’re in the fight of our lives??? Jeez!!!!

When Jorge stated he had political capitol and planned to spend it, little did I know he meant he planned to screw us and not them. I almost got canned from FR for my criticism of him in the last election. It appears that now I can start supporting FR in good conscience. I long ago let the nation repubs know not to send me any more requests for support as long as they will not defend the nation I defended for 26 years and the future home of my grandchildren.

Its an insult to our intelligence. If he said it was an amnesty, I'd at least give him points for being honest. But pretending this turkey will secure our borders and provide a regularized status for guest workers? C'mon George, Americans are NOT that stupid. We know the bill is amnesty first, creating an invitation to commit more law-breaking and securing (if it ever happens) the borders last. Just who is the President trying to kid?

Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus

I can defend his handling of the WOT and several other things, but on this I agree I cannot. Doesn't mean I can't defend him on the rest of it, though -- because I do.

Given that open borders are perhaps one of the largest security threats in the WOT, it's pretty hard to defend his handling of that...especially with Chertoff running his mouth about the benefits of the same while frisking midwestern grandmothers in airports.

Sometimes my dear husband acts like a jerk too, but I'm not going to divorce him over it regardless what it's about.

This isn't so much like divorce as it is like firing an employee for embezzlement. The president isn't our king, he's our employee. It's time we examined our mindsets as citizens.

Nah - Johnson, Carter, and Clinton have him beat for that award, and that’s just in my lifetime.

I hope this is an lesson well learned. If both the republicans and democrats offer up incompetent candidates for president, vote for the democrat candidate. First off, the incompetent democrat (see Carter) will not last but one term and republican members of congress can either filibuster or defeat most of his legislation and appointments. But an incompetent Rino republican elected will result not only in 4 years of hell for conservatives but will another 8 years of democrat hell in reprisal for the republicans giving the nation an incompetent.

Oh, come on now... he wont call Murtha or Pelosi a Traitor, but he’ll call us un-american....excuse me....by no means am I a “Victim” here, nor do I feel we conservatives should continue to coddle these worthless RHINO’s....even if they are POTUS. I expect a bit more from our “leader” who hold the highest elected office in our country. If this person can’t or wont do the job step aside. This is a really ugly time for our country or whats left of it and giving 20 million illegals amnesty while name calling cause you don’t agree isn’t going to help.
