The Faithful Heretic
A Wisconsin Icon Pursues Tough Questions Some people are lucky enough to enjoy their work, some are lucky enough to love it, and then theres Reid Bryson. At age 86, hes still hard at it every day, delving into the science some say he invented.
Reid A. Bryson holds the 30th PhD in Meteorology granted in the history of American education. Emeritus Professor and founding chairman of the University of Wisconsin Department of Meteorologynow the Department of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences... **snip**
...Bryson mentions the retreat of Alpine glaciers, common grist for current headlines. What do they find when the ice sheets retreat, in the Alps?
We recall the two-year-old report saying a mature forest and agricultural water-management structures had been discovered emerging from the ice, seeing sunlight for the first time in thousands of years. Bryson interrupts excitedly.
A silver mine! The guys had stacked up their tools because they were going to be back the next spring to mine more silver, only the snow never went, he says. There used to be less ice than now. Its just getting back to normal...

Fascinating. I looked for more on this "silver mine in the Alps" thing, but only found a rumor that it was also mentioned in an early May 2007 issue of Time.

GGG ping.
badgerlandjim, you posted this earlier in the month. Rush Limbaugh mentioned it today on his show. The interview had some juicy GGG tidbits in it.

Thanks for the ping. Yeah, I emailed a link to the article to Rush the day after I posted it to FR. I’d gotten a copy of the magazine article in the regular mail from my brother, a non-computer guy. He called me this evening to say he’d listened to Rush discuss the article today. We were both happy that Rush saw fit to get this info out to his huge audience. I was busy and missed the show today. Wish I’d heard it. Very damaging to Carbon Credit Hucksters, such as Al Gore. Seems like he wouldn’t have to swindle quite so many of the foolish if he had only invested his profits from inventing the Internet wisely.

We do, however, have actual records of advancing glaciers in those same alps crushing entire villages and farmsteads..
One exposed silver mine means little to nothing as "proof" ..
The fact that the glaciers grew means that at one time they were not there.
Documented.. The glaciers were smaller, higher up.. It was warmer.
Farmers grew crops, villages flourished, at higher altitudes..
Some of those sites are only now being exposed, which means it was warmer at some point..
Otherwise, those farms and villages would not be there, under the ice..
Would they?

Dunno. I've been looking, but it appears to be limited circulation information among the archeological set, from 2004-2005?
Somehow this Bryson guy got wind of it, too.

The find and discovery site were kept secret from fear of “treasure graves”
