No offense intended, but I don't think you understand the differences.

The "Nuclear Option" and this are apples and oranges. Judges do not constitutionally have to be super majority approved. Vetos have to be overrulled by a 60% majority via the constitution.

After this, he stands no chance of re-elction.

Thank you for some levity.

There are so many simple answers to placing the Democrats in their place, that it is beyond irritating.
The President simply has to point out that in our form of Government, those Representatives in the House speak for the American people and they have spoken for no surrender, regardless of what the Majority leader wishes.

Jo Ann Davis has missed a lot of these votes. Anybody know why? Is she having some medical problem, or is she skipping these Iraq votes on purpose?

He’s opposed to funding the war and wanted an immediate withdrawl.

I believe some democrats voted no before for that reason, but they voted yes on the veto override.

“I’m confident, with goodwill on both sides, that we can move beyond political statements,” Bush said

That's his key phrase, if you parse it... there is no goodwill on the part of the RATs. And W knows it. Misunderestimated yet again.

“After the House vote, congressional leaders met with the president in what they called a “positive” exchange.

“We made our position clear. [The president] made his position clear. Now it’s time for us to try to work together to come together,” Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said after the president’s meeting.”

San Fran Anti America Nancy Piglosi made the above comments.

These jerks KNEW he wouldn’t sign it so they spent all this time, energy, money, etc. to push through a bill they knew wouldn’t pass muster. Now how dumb is that???

How many votes are needed for an override?

2/3 of 435 = 290

How many votes are needed for an override?

Or if it is just 2/3 of those voting, 2/3 of 425 = 281

But, but, but, I thought the American people GAVE the Marxist’s Dimocrats a MANDATE to get us out of the war?? I thought that they were GOING to get us out?? If they had a mandate, why the hell did they need $Billions of dollars in pork to BUY VOTES OF THEIR OWN MARXISTS’S???? Bribe money, that’s all that pork was. They cannot get what they claim. They don’t have a friggin’ mandate. They are lying, losers, defeatist, appeasers of our enemies. The Marxist’s Dimocrats ARE ENEMIES OF THE REPUBLIC.

Some mandate ... a mere 16 House districts give the RATs the majority in the House and Sen. Johnson’s brain recovery in the Senate. Sen. Lieberman could live up to his oath and choose to caucus with the Republicans and Harry Reid becomes the minority leader (unless one of the Northeast RINOs decides to pull a Jeffords).

“222-203 to override”

Is a role call available? I’d like to know how my representative voted.

Thanks for posting the roll call vote.

Bud Cramer (D) of Alabama voted to override President Bush’s veto. Stinker.

“Benchmarks without teeth are, what, a conversation?” Pelosi asked.

Did we have Benchmarks for Britain in World War Two?

Media here said the vote was “just short of the 2/3rds needed”. Fell farther short than that. According to my calculations, the override number would be 290. They only got 218 on the original approval vote.

lol. Maybe Bob Uker was writing the story. Still, the default amount is zero dollars. Like it or not, President Bush is not in a position of strength.
