Giuliani as the GOP presidential nominee would be a dagger in the heart of the conservative movement (and a knife in the back).

The only difference in a Liberal Rudy Giuliani and Liberal Hillary Clinton is the fact of which bathrooms they select to use and there are some who are willing to even question that.

Fred Thompson is not Duncan Hunter...

But he could play him in a movie.

If they overstay their visa, they are not legal... Are you against legal immigration?

If they overstay their visa, they weren't good applicants in the first place.

I'm all for 'legal' immigration, if it had any oversight. USCIS admits to approving thousands of applications they they didn't review the files on, because they can't find them! And this is the agency you want to oversee MORE 'legal' immigration. Good applicants are tortured through our system for years. Our immigration system needs a giant enema.

The differences between them are real, but both are conservative. I support Hunter now, but he has been campaigning for awhile and hasn't gained much traction. He also has never mounted more than a local campaign. If Thompson enters the field, I will do everything I can to support him. He already is way ahead of Hunter without even being a candidate. Thompson will be the conservative candidate with the best chance to win. Whether we like it or not, presidential campaigning is media driven. A candidate has to be able to convince Americans with impressions they leave from 30 second commercials and sound bites. Because of his professional background, Thompson knows how to give the right impression before a microphone or camera. This is the only view of a candidate most voters will ever see.

We must get a conservative elected, liberals need not apply. Sorry, Rudy.

Before reading this important thread I had no idea Gouliani was such a foul, despicable person. It is important that you inform all of us who might generally be unaware of his vile unconservative actions the impact his left leaning, anti-family stance would have on the American soul.

By the way, if you have any openings for Moderator jobs, I’d be happy to help out.

A fair guess would be; they don't much care, except that their candidate would have to be "maleable". For them.

I see that now. Sorry.

It takes a while to read through the whole thread.

Murdocks and Soros. None of them natural born Americans. Geesh, you have a point.

Thompson voted for: Thompson voted YES on allowing more foreign workers into the US for farm work

You said: “I see no problem with that.”
well - you come from Seattle - I see! That explains it!

In first place - LEGAL immigrants might just want those jobs and MORE foreign workers might just take it from the legal immigrants!

And - second -

Try dialoging with people who are on border states that have to handle the overflow of illegals in the hospitals and school systems!

You might feel differently if you had those problems of jobs being taken away from the legal Mexican work force, over-crowded schools, and over-taxed hospitals - (that’s where the illegal’s primary care doctors are!)

Allowing more foreign workers does not equal allowing more illegal foreign workers. I have no problem with farm workers coming in here on valid Visas established for that purpose.

Being from Seattle is irrelevant. I grew up in California and lived in Southern Orange County for twelve years.

This is quite a bit of oppositon research for the Democrats to sue here when Rudy wins the nod.

Yeah, I’m supporting Thompson as well but still like Hunter. I just thought it was a good one-liner.

My refusing to vote for Guilianni is not a vote for Hillary or anyone else

In the general election, it would be.  You can spin it or justify it in your head any which way you want, but its the truth.

If the three candidates on the ballot are Rudy Giuliani, Hillary Clinton, and Constitution Party guy who cries because he can't get into the debates, and you vote for anyone besides the GOP nominee you are giving implicit support to Hillary and possibly allowing a third Clinton presidency without 50% of the vote.

Seeing as your profile says you are from North Dakota you can do whatever you want to make a statement, as I have no doubt the GOP nominee will carry the state, but someone who shares your views in states like FL, OH, PA et al could be disastrous to our nation's future.

No more fuzzy math.

Zero is not equal to one.

If you refuse to vote for rudy, it isn’t a vote for hillary.

“This is quite a bit of oppositon research for the Democrats to sue here when Rudy wins the nod.”

like they wouldn’t do it anyway.

And this is all freely available to anyone who would be doing opposition research. Those doing it professionally would be able to find more, faster.

Better to get it out now so we can avoid making the mistake of nominating rudy, than have it all come out during the general election when we’ve hitched our star to a gun grabbing , abortion supporting, illegal alien loving NY liberal with an (R) next to his name.

Bingo! I want him crushed and humiliated so bad that he drops out.

Make him such a loser that nobody would ever donate another dime to a liberal Republican running for POTUS.

There is tons of dirt and scandal available to anyone on Rooty. I have gobs of it book marked.

It all depends on the particular dynamics of a specific race, but in an especially close election if there is a “true conservative” third party candidate taking 3-5% of the vote or more and Hillary and Rudy are in a statistical dead heat, in a pivitol state(s), then it can be reasonably deduced that if our “true conservative” friend were not in the race a large enough percentage of his supporters would otherwise vote Rudy and put him over the top.

In this scenario a third party candidate getting moderate support = Hillary presidency.

Like I said, justify it in your mind any way you wish, and we can both hope it never comes down to it, but that’s just the way it works.
