Interesting that a far higher percentage of So. Carolinians (37%) objected to the flag than Mississippians did (24%). .....or Lousianians and Alabamians (both 27%), for that matter.

Looks like not much has changed since 1860. Confedracy was demanding “States Rights”, and according to this poll map, looks like the same players, with a few exceptions. To the Blue states, my response is; Yankee Go Home! This is a South Carolina issue, and they don’t need any of your “Sassy, fat-mouth, busybody, Yankee talk, tellin ‘em what to do”.

Why am I not surprised that a Rooty Rooter would say that.
They seem to have a problem with anything that isn’t NE liberalism.

It’s time to let go of the past. The future is what’s important.

The 1860s are over. Hanging onto the long dead past is destroying the Republican Party. So are the years 1776 thru 1788....
Is hanging on to the United States Constitution / Bill of Rights destroying us too?

Rooty’s future is back to NYC to play dress-up with his queer friends.

Local idiots viciously fought against a statue of Robert E Lee [finally] being erected in the Sharpsburg/Antietam Battlefield national park.
They felt the presence of any “tribute” to him was “innapropriate”.
Some other local guy paid for a piece of land and Marse Robert’s statue now stands on the periphery of the battlefield.

Seems to me that the Discovery Channel ought to be covering Barry Bonds, the Fishing Channel ought to cover the Packers games, and National Geographic ought to feature golf updates each month...if ESPN logic is correct. Something says that ESPN doesn’t know what they sell...and they might be open to real competition.

Let’s just say us South Carolinian’s decided to secede from the union over the Confederate flag issue and we ended up having to fight the damn yankees again.
Would the war be about the right to fly the Confederate flag on the state capital grounds or would the war be about states rights?
(This is a set up question to bait the Reb bashers ;~))

The question is, why does anyone in their right mind care???

Not at the expense of learning nothing from our history. Thanks, AuntB. Those that do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.
Do you get it, tkathy?

Give them time.
Sci Fi already shows wrestling, CNBC shows DEAL OR NO DEAL - (imagine the controversy if Fox News showed reruns of AMERICAN IDOL) and I watched PLANET OF THE APES on The History Channel a ocuple of weeks ago.

I'm northern, but regard Lee as one of the great men of American history. I hope the Southerners never forget their brave and heroic past.
I wonder when the Left is going to notice that many military bases are named after great Confederate leaders (A.P. Hill, for one)?
