The festering bad blood between movie-star exes Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger erupted Thursday when an angry phone message from Baldwin to his daughter was made public. On the recording, Baldwin can be heard berating his 11-year-old, Ireland, "You are a rude, thoughtless little pig."
"You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being," he says, apparently upset that she did not answer her phone for a planned call.
"I don't give a damn that you're 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you're a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't care about what you do as far as I'm concerned. You have humiliated me for the last time with this phone."
He goes on to say that he plans to fly from New York to Los Angeles "for the day just to straighten you out on this issue."

I said a prayer of thanks for my parents last night. No matter how rude or thoughtless I was as a child, they never once called me names or swore at me. Listening to this, I realized how lucky I was.
Baldwin is a deranged hothead and Basinger is probably playing him like an old banjo. Get the kid to do something, Baldwin goes ape right on cue and hey presto, you have episode 57 in the long running Alec/Kim soap opera. Yanking Baldwin's chain and getting him to erupt is probably slightly easier than feeding strawberries to a donkey.
It's a tragedy for the child, though. Dysfunctional families like this are the reason for so much of the troubled youth of today.

Okay! Those of you who are parents raise your hands... have you EVER gotten pissed off at your child, lost your temper, and went on a rant, saying things you didn’t really mean? I did - and my children grew up FINE.
Second question - if you found yourself losing your temper and going on aforementioned rant, would you think it’s fair if your less-than-beloved ex-wife decided to use a tape of that temper tantrum to deny you permanent access to your own child?
Personally, Alec Baldwin is one of my least favorite people - but I’ve gotta stick up for him here. The very fact that he’s so pissed off at her for NOT being in the right-place-at-the-right-time to get the call, and evidently went to some trouble to be able to make that call in the first place shows me he DOES care about his daughter.
Let’s take the fact that we hate his politics and want to see him screwed out of the equation.
Here’s another example of a typical two-faced, hypocritical Liberal that talks out of both sides of his mouth. Do as I say; not as I do. They’re all cut from the same frayed cloth. Liberals think they’re immune to criticism and can do no wrong. Pelosi, Murtha, Kerry, Hitlery, Reid, Kennedy (the Swimmer), commit treason and then point fingers at the President and mouth “we support the troops, while stabbing them in the back. They’re anti-American, anti-military traitors along with Baldwin and the Hollyweird wackos.

Did you listen to the tape? If somebody left that on my answering machine I’d play it for the sheriff and local newspaper. That was frightening.
I am no fan of Alec Baldwin and despise his political views. However, nobody is perfect and anyone may say things they regret when emotions get the best of them. We have no idea what led up to this, nor do we know what he did to rectify it.
The tragedy in this is that Kim Bassinger leaked this to the press and that the press considers this news. Bassinger obviously has no problem using her daughter and thrusting her into the public eye to get at her husband; that is the real despicable act here.
It’s especially useful when fighting an ex-husband.
As they say, they deserve each other.

If I had a daughter and anyone put this on her phone, they’d have more to worry about than some court action.
