Dismissal of U.S. Attorneys
Atty. Gen. Alberto Gonzales testifies before a Judiciary Cmte. hearing on the recent firing of eight U.S. Attorneys. Critics have questioned the motivation for the firing and the Atty. Gen.'s role in the process. The original hearing, scheduled for Tuesday, was post-
poned because of the Virginia Tech University shootings.

Listening on C-SPAN Radio. Spector is going after him with a baseball bat. Does not sound good.

Specter says he doesn’t think the AG is going to win the debate and then tells him he wants him to win the debate.
He’s being incredibly rude and snotty.

Gonzales needs to check his tongue the door.
Specter has caught him in more ‘misspeaking’.
Gonzales isn’t doing himself allot of good by obfuscating the issue of the level of his involvement.

Bush should simply state that the firing of USAs is an executive branch function and that is that.He has said that.

Specter pretends he doesn’t understand how they could have discussions of evaluating Lam outside of the review process for removal.

AG is stuttering.
Why can’t he just say that a lot of the decisions were made by his subordinates?

I just dont think Gonzales is up to this.
If I were in a court case, I would hope Gonzales were opposing counsel. He is pathethic, if this is a representation of his legal capabilities. He is not representing himself nor the post of Attorney General of the US very well.
