Yeah, Virginia Tech (my alma mater) has more than it’s share of Middle Eastern and Asian types in its engineering programs. I know Norris Hall very well, and am appalled that this has happened.

Very poorly written article. It gives no information about the suspect arrested today and then devotes three paragraphs at the end to another incident. Presumably, the suspect named at the end of the story is the suspect from the August 2006 incident?

Officials ordered the campus closed, the second time in less than a year the 26,000-student campus was shut because of a shooting.

In August 2006, the opening day of classes was canceled and the campus closed when an escaped jail inmate allegedly killed a hospital guard off campus and fled to the Tech area. A sheriff's deputy involved in the manhunt was killed on a trail just off campus.

The accused gunman, William Morva, faces capital murder charges.

It means that Montgomery Emergency room is clear enough of patients that they can take new trauma cases of any kind, when they go on diversion it means that they do not have room in the ER for any more emergent trauma cases. Going off diversion is a good thing, means that what cases they did have have been processed and have gone to the various departments they needed to go to. Surgery, or a regular hospital bed or Orthopedics. Its a good thing.
