I sent a nasty email to CBS and blocked them from my TV. I have a link to them on my site at www.rainforthforcongress.org

i like talk radio in the a.m. and there are only 2 real shows with real events in nyc believe it or not.

and other than imus it was kurtis and the commie, who i can’t stand.

i’ll be glad to get another option since i’m too cheap for satellite.

Just heard the right Reverend Sharpton on TV. Man... that is a powerful speaker!

I can just see that new 'Pimps R Us' commercial now... "When Al Sharpton speaks...people listen!"

Sunday Ticket is nice for you though. I have the east and west coast feeds, and KCBS in Los Angeles carries all the Chargers games.

I’m earning my Masters in English education and I know exactely what you mean. I never would have made it even this far if I hadn’t learned how to be a good actor and a good liar. I feel like a mole half the time; a person shouldn’t have to feel like a mole for being of a certain political persuation in academia, the so-called “marketplace of ideas.” But, of course, the socialists hate markets, don’t they?

I often wish they could spend just one day in an alternate universe in which liberalism is disparaged in academia, the media, and popular culture, while conservativism is put a pedestal as self-evidently right. Maybe they’d see how it felt, though I doubt they’d learn a lesson from it. I can’t figure whether they realize how much they and their biases control our social and cultural institutions and just pretend otherwise, or if they really are so blind as to think that it’s balanced.

“If you had watched it, Armstrong Williams called for Imus’ firing”

We must have watched different nights. Honestly. Armstrong kept talking about Imus having hosted and cared for black children at his ranch. Williams also repeatedly stated that Imus accused the govt. of a slow Katrina response because the people were mostly poor and black. Williams defended Imus over and over again (which incidently was the critique Howlin made in her posting). If you did not hear Williams say the things I mentioned, then we definitely did not see the same program.

Probably someone on the left, like you suggest. It would have to be since pundits on the right are already being targeted.

My question was who would be next to be taken down. This was just a precedent we all know who the real targets of PC are.

Imus Out!

Jefferson still in!

BIG BAZOO's take: In the fine Democratic tradition of crack-smoking Marion Barry...Dem. Rep. William Jefferson was elected by Democratic voters DESPITE the fact that the FBI found $90K in bribery cash in his home freezer.....A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!...

We have chronicled the breadth of corruption in this new Democrat controlled Congress...In this instance, voters DID NOT CARE!!.....Republicans throw bums out when discovered in their midst......Democrats herald their return!!

Fox says Imus is at Rutgers now, apologizing in person to the basketball team.

Since he has nothing to gain from it now, he deserves some credit for it (but he’s still an idiot for apologizing non-stop for DAYS on end.)

I heard on the radio yesterday (Medved, I think) that Imus once made a reference the "thieving Jews";

I heard John Salley (a black, former NBA player) on his Fox Sports show saying that had Imus made these remarks about Jews he would have been fired. I'm sure he won't be held to account for that remark, even though it was said in all seriousness and as the truth.

I think you’re correct. MOST Freepers dislike Imus... but, think this “lynching” was unjustified.

What Imus said was stupid... but, he was commenting on the APPEARANCE of these girls in a GROSSLY EXAGGERATED way... that’s more or less what “comedy” is...

Imus knew NONE of these girls personally. So, his comments should NOT be taken seriously in any way. Why, oh why? would they care what an idiot like him says?

Does he not have a right to comment on the way they LOOKED? to HIM?? Evidently... no.

This is simply ridiculous to me.... But, it’s what you get when Liberals attack liberals.

“Are you referring to the KKK? If so, that’s a disgusting comment”

But stating that “the blacks” caused this isn’t?
Sweeping generalizations in this case insult the black FReepers.

Come on, let’s not give the libs any fuel to state that conservatives are bigots. Some of us are black. Yet, this is what is pointed to when they refer to us.

It’s ridiculous, that’s for sure. Even an explanation and a sincere apology isn’t enough anymore. Everyone’s a victim. It’s sick.

Imus had the no. 9 rated talk show. Pretty minor already.

A weekly audience of 10,000,000 can't be all that bad.

In addition, how many other talk radio hosts raised a million dollars for charity today?

Ramone & Frunkis are the worst ever! They are so mean to that poor Steve the Bear. He has a tiny stomach and a hybrid.

I just hope that Imus calls the b-b-b-boys tomorrow on their XM show. I want to hear the unedited version of that call.

I also wonder if tomorrow is a "your mom's box" show on Free FM?

Monkeyhouse rocks the d-sippers.
