Girly cars vs. Manly cars (Laura Ingraham)
Laura Ingraham radio show ^ | April 9, 2007 | n/a

Posted on 04/09/2007 6:53:58 PM PDT by fkabuckeyesrule

I was listening to the Laura Ingraham radio show today and they were talking about how some cars are girly cars and some are manly cars. Laura was particularly mentioning that the Mazda Miata was a girly car. This was news to me. Her assisitant chimed in with saying the Mazda 3 was a girly car. This was also news to me. I'm in the market for a new car and was thinking of buying the MAzda 3 or a Miata. I've been told that the 3 has fewer service issues than other Mazda cars.

Of course one would gather that the manly cars would be trucks.

One girly car I've noticed is the VW Beetle. I've never seen a man driving one of those.

What do Freepers think? What cars are girly cars and what cars are manly cars.

Hmmmm...I am a female, and I own a Beetle. I even blog about it!

You will note however that I am the only female in any of the pictures...

The post called “Body Off” is my favorite...

“For me it was only about the gas mileage.” It is a shame more people don’t think like that. Everybody is worried about status and what everyone else thinks.

How can I say this so you’ll understand...THE MIATA IS A GIRLY CAR. There’s no debate.

Maybe a stock Miata, but they are the base for a very capable and affordable sports racer.

How about a nice, manly Ferrari Testarosa?

There is a lot of Internet comment about that photo, and most people seem to think it is a photoshop. If so, I bet that a rich female or gay LA entrepreneur has commissioned a real one.

Yes, did you see me? I'm advertising a new brassier for flat chested men.

I have a 2003 Neon w/ 230,000 miles on it that gets 35mpg. I’ve given it 2 tuneups and 4 sets of tires. I’m 6’4” and 285lbs. and I have enough leg room to be comfortable on my 90 minute commute. I’ll take my girlie car any day.

I had 3 vDubs before I found my first Porsche (Yes, they are related.). I owned a ‘62 356B coupe, a ‘66 912 and 2 914s before I went on to air cooled motorcycles.

Most Bug owners I met were cool. Most Porsche owners were arrogant.

That, sir, is wrong. Very wrong.

Why can’t I find Joe Cartoon’s Hummer when I need to? It’s an H1 decorated with the likeness of the vehicle racing thru a herd of gerbils, parts & splatter galore.

Any vehicle with front-wheel drive is a girly car. Real men drive V8’s with rear-wheel drive. Pretty simple.

My first VW had a 914 engine in it and I became fasinated with the VW/porsche relationship.
VWs were simply wonderful in the desert and mountains.
A admired many of the utilitarian aspect of the VWs engineering. The suspention was amasing

I certainly do not remember the Fiat 124 Spyders that the Miata is a copy of being a “girlie” car. In fact a convertable almost has to NOT be a girlie car for the reasons the big hair girl in the Pontiac ads discusses.
