FReepers and other Street Protesters: Check out this great poster software...
Today, silly | Silly

Posted on 04/07/2007 5:08:15 PM PDT by Silly

Are you sick of bland, pathetic-looking posters made with colored markers? Are you graphically challenged and not very software savvy? Do you wish your FReeps had professional, cheap posters that catch the eye?

Today, after looking for months, I finally found an amazing poster software called PosteRazor. It is free, and works with Windows or Mac OSs. You will not believe how easy it is to use.

It takes your image, and cuts it into tiles, then quickly converts them into PDF pages, which you can print on paper of your choosing and assemble into a large poster or banner.

The first time I saw such a PDF file was one that Registered created for the SoreLoserman protest in 2000. I still have the original PDF file he or someone created, but I haven't been able to create PDFs of my own. I did try another poster software later, but it was hard to use, expensive, and I was never really satisfied with the results.

But today, the posters I made in less than 5 minutes were absolutely amazing.

You can download PosteRazor at:

http://downloads.zdnet.com/download.aspx?&kw=poster&osfilter=mac&docid=252527

Or at: http://www.posterazor.com/

There you go! I’m intimidated by new software, and anyway, it’s good for her ego :-).

" I used wide clear tape when I did mine, then mounted the whole thing on stiff cardboard"

Here's one better: Use aerosol contact adheasive (mounting type) and mount the pieces on Foam Board. It's strong, and light, and can be had in 3' x 6' boards. (or larger too, if you're up to it)

Teenagers need self-esteem, you know :-). For a real accomplishment, like being able to work the computer.

Most defects in a sign disappear once you're a few feet away.

This program would be good for blowing up editorial cartoons to poster size.

Yes, absolutely. In fact, using the spray on adhesive someone suggested, plus using razor blades to create perfectly abutting seams (like what you do when matching wall paper patterns), the defects would not even be noticable up close.

Can’t wait to use this.

Nope, just a little bit PO'd about seeing threads yanked out of categories where they belong (and can actually help folks who want to do something), and other threads stay that aren't pertinent to the sidebars they are placed in.

The last time this happened was the night before the GOE and I posted a thread encouraging Freepers to call CSPAN about their snubbing the pro-America rally and tripping all over themselves to cover the communist rally, march and follow-up rally. That thread got yanked out of activism sidebar. Once Jim Robinson got back to his hotel from Freeping at Walter Reed in the sleet storm, he put it back where it belonged.

(And as a result of that thread, Freepers and GOE'ers phoned and email barraged CSPAN, some even got on the air and reamed CSPAN for blowing off the patriots' rally. In the weeks following their programming snub on March 17th, CSPAN has called and emailed Kristinn to find out when the next Support Our Troops event will be held. They felt the sting of PO'd patriots.)

That's activism.

You’re very welcome. I’m so happy to find it, and that it actually works so well and so easily.
