A local paper reports that a drill at Burlington Township High School in New Jersey involved police portraying mock gunmen, described as "members of a right-wing fundamentalist group called the 'New Crusaders' who don't believe in the separation of church and state." The fake gunmen were said to have been "seeking justice because the daughter of one [member] had been expelled for praying before class."

Is this the school where Rosie O'Donuts sends the children she bought?
I noticed that, which makes me rather suspicious of this report. If people are going to be going to claiming this occurred then they need to properly cite their sources. "local paper" doesn't cut it.
Such excellent journalism being practiced in the linked article.
No school name.
No paper name (though the article referenced a local paper).
No interviews with anyone even remotely connected to the event.
Count me a skeptic, until such time as the site wishes to do some actual reporting.
....because Christians are soooooooo into the terrorists taking hostages scene, right?
Seems to me, whenever someone commits a crime of this sort that can be ever so loosely tied to the Christian religion....it's always a "gunman shoots X number of people in a 'clinic'" or they blow up a federal building or....damn...can't think of any more of the apparent long lists of Christian terrorist events.
Well they did some bad reporting(or was it commentary?), but you can't read. They did list the high school, but not the paper(or do interviews themselves which wouldn't be their job).
Evan Sayet bump!
do interviews themselves which wouldn't be their job...if they were just going to cite the local paper.
If you live in New Jersey, EVERY DAY is April Fool's Day.
"Hate to point this out, but don't students have the right to pray before class?"
And the right to pray during (quietly) and after class. Even the ACLU agrees with this.

This is hearsay on top of rumor. The MP3 link that is the basis for the story is busted, and the best "source" we have in the story itself is "a local paper".
And today the Amish kids were going to their new school for the first time since the shootings. Those wacky Christians.
Thanks a lot for that.
The situation has taken a dramatic turn for the worse with threats to force the hostages to their knees and feed them wafers and wine.
And this just in; in a last ditch effort to appease the ultra-right-wing-fundamentalist-Bible-thumpers, the school principal has offered to read a catechism over the school's PA system.
Hate to point this out, but don't students have the right to pray before class?
My nephews teacher told him he wasn't allowed to pray before lunch because God didn't give him his food, the school did.
I'm not even a Christian and I'm tired of it.
You train for the most likely threats, and for a school Christian fundamentalists are WAY down on that list, down with the Buddhists attacking. Now if you're an abortion clinic, you might want to train for a hit from a lone Christian fundamentalist.
Teach the kids to fear christians and they won't be on the lookout for the real terrorists.
