It is not often that a guest on a TV news program has the boldness to put the interviewers political-activism past in the open, but Hunter wasnt one to shy away. He made sure to point out, three times, that George Stephanopoulos, the host of ABCs This Week, had worked for President Clinton, who supported the Dubai Ports deal.
That he did

Hunter comes by these ideas very honestly, an industry source said. He has never been in the position to pull this stuff until he became chairman, but Hunter has not grown to recognize the reality of global trade and global commerce, the source added. Translation: he should deep-six his concerns about the ability of this country to withstand boycotts of strategic materials and go along with the blurring of our boundaries and national security interests.

I don't know what the intention was, but this emerges as a very favorable article. Impressive.
Amazing the way the media have consigned who Stephanopolous is to the Memory Hole. Do you think they would do that if Karl Rove got a job as a commentator on Fox News?

Duncan Hunter. Real conservatives stick by their principles whether it's popular or not. The rest are called Dems.

And when the Bush administration tried to convince the powerful Armed Services Committee on its controversial port security plan, Hunter refused to budge.
ROFL!!!
He didn't just budge, he leaped!
The big government RINO didn't hesitate one second to take a liberty from me and 23 million other online poker players. I'd vote for Barney Frank before I'd vote for Duncan Hunter.

An old article from 2006, but it holds some good information.

But to this day, Hunter refuses to go back to Vietnam, and according to a source he said that the only way he would come face to face with a Vietnamese is at the end of my rifle.
Wow! Reminds me of Harry Truman's caustic wit and wisdom. He already had my support. This just solidifies it.

Great article. Can't wait to see him in debates with the other GOP candidates. No one comes near him in ability and stature.

Well, it appears that he let the prez "twist" his arm by voting for the prescription drug bill, the biggest expansion of the welfare state since LBJ. This was an extremely close vote and most Republicans sensibly voted against it. Then again, Hunter may sincerely support socialized medicine!

You do realize, I hope, that if and when Duncan Hunter is perceived as a legitimate candidate with a real chance of winning, the Duncan Hunter lovefest will come to an end and people will start discussing Hunter's close relationship with Duke Cunningham, his love for congressional pork, his vote for McCain-Feingold, his vote for socialized medicine, his votes against congressional reform, his votes for the nanny state, etc.

Duncan Hunter did a splendid job on Bill Bennett's "Morning in America" this A.M.. The man knows what he talks about, and has a succinct delivery that I find very refreshing.
