I read that earlier in another post...???
He came up to the mic and stated:
It would be inappropriate for me NOT to speak since I have had years of experience as a journalist
Now he retrying the case without input from defense...sounds like the trial

There is a difference between denying sexual conduct with an intern when the issue in court is sexual harassment (and rape) in the workplace and confusing event (A) happening before event (B) chronologically.
There were a number of people on the stand in this trial who confused event order but only one was prosecuted for it.

And this verdict just gives them more power.
If you don't think so, take a look at the REPORTER who was a juror who is talking on TV right now.

Is this juror the same Denis Collins formerly of the Washington Post?
To: Lurking Libertarian
I suppose that was an ignorant response I my part, but an appeal *will* be cocked and loaded for the appropriate time. That was the spirit of the comment.

That was my take. So then this verdict does not help at all the Plame suit against Libby et al.
To: sully777
Now the Washington Post juror is on air getting his 15 minutes of fame. That clinches it. This wasn't an impartial jury.

This whole ordeal is not about Scooter Libby. Lefties don't give two sh*ts about him. They just care about him as long as they can use it against Cheney or Rove.

You are exactly right, and it's my understanding that the moron lawyer for Libby went RIGHT ALONG with the notion that Libby is innocent BECAUSE he was "under orders" from Cheney. It was a pathetic strategy, and the minute I heard it, I said "uh oh." Now the jurors are saying they should have Rove or Cheney in front of them.

How can you NOT put Wilson/Plame on the stand???? Because they didnt lie to the FBI or the grand jury. Libby did. Judge wouldnt allow them to be witnesses because it wasnt germane to the charges which were did Libby lie and obstruct or not. Its all about the "coverup" not any underlying crime. Libby was not charged with saying whether the Wilson charges were true or not, he was charged with lying about how and when he found out about Wilson and his wife and what he knew about her status at the FBI.

It came up during jury selection, that one of the jurors selected was a former WaPo reporter. Unless there are two "former reporter" types on the jury, it's him. [of course, I wouldn't stake my life on this info, it's just something I gleaned off some blog like FireDogPuke, so who knows?]

There isn't one thing funny about any of this!Precisely, prairiebreeze. This illustrates that a 'Rat prosecutor can convict any conservative white male heterosexual professional defendant in a 'Rat jurisdiction. It's a sad commentary on the politicization of the criminal justice system when the cards are stacked against Libby simply because of the leftist prejudices of the prosecutor and the jury.
