I agree, but I do think Libby got himself in trouble, and I don't think his atty. served him well.Very, very sad, but true.

No White House will EVER be able to defend themselves against a pack of lies again. You MEAN no GOP White House. The Democraps will have no problem breaking the law. They have the DBM and the Washington DC jury pool in their hip pockets!!

Bush needs to wake the hell up already. I am so sick of defending an administration that wont defend itself.

If I were the president I would pardon Libby of all charges.
I don't think he did anything wrong - he was following orders.

Like I said, that's Fitz's hope. Doesn't mean it's going to happen, but that is why Fitz put so much into this particular case.

The Stalinists will lie when it suits them and express phoney outrage. Don't expect them to be consistent on any statements or positions (like people are not prosecuted for lying under oath or how a trial might damage the country...).
It is all about the power and winning over the public for the time being. They live for the moment and expunge the historical record as it suits them. It helps that they have strong friends in the media.

It is what the case is REALLY about, but what the case was, as a point of law, about, was whether Libby lied about talking to Russert or Matt Cooper. We agree that WHAT he talked about was irrelevant, but you can't lie about anything to a GJ, including "Are your shoes loafers?" and they are and you say, "No, they are hiking boots."
The point is, the prosecutor was looking for a "spit on the sidewalk" charge, and Libby, like an idiot, gave him one.

"But if the issue is that Libby said, flatly, he did not TALK to Russert, and they proved he did, he's in heap big trouble."
Libby did not deny talking to Russert. They disagreed about what was said during the conversation. Libby said Russert mentioned Plame; Russert - who couldn't remember anything else Wells questioned him about - said he didn't.

The necessary appeal will be in the hands of a judge by the end of day, methinks.A verdict is not appealable; he can't file for an appeal until after he is sentenced.

The judge could do this, if he wanted to, just by arguing that he didn't realize that they didn't know what the hell they were doing until the questions that came in this morning. But it's very unlikely.
I can't imagine a 4/5 count means anything. I'm sure it sometimes indicates a "serious" jury but if Wells can point to a specific error on Fitz' part, it doesn't matter.

There was a reporter on the jury?
As a reporter you'd think he'd be able to form a complete sentence.

If I've said it once, I've said it before... the power of the MSM in this country is immeasurable. They have become the strong arm of liberals, pushing their agenda down the publics' collective throat. Without question, they have their hands in this verdict. The masses have been brainwashed by the MSM, and there is no turning back. There simply isn't enough 'smart' people out there to offset the sheeple who believe everything the MSM puts out.
Of course, then there is the judicial system, which is another arm of the Democrat party...
