"Opposition Protest Accuses Spain of ETA Surrender (There's Still Some Courage Left)"

"Opposition protest accuses Spain of ETA surrender"
By Ben Harding
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "MADRID (Reuters) - Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators protested at an opposition rally in Madrid on Saturday to vent their rage at what they say is the Spanish government's "surrender" to Basque separatists ETA.
Angry at a government decision to grant house arrest to a multiple killer from ETA after he fell dangerously ill on hunger strike, protesters waved red and yellow Spanish flags as they marched up Madrid's main 12-lane avenue, shouting for Socialist Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero to resign.
"This is the last straw. We're fed up with this man trying to dismantle Spain," business consultant Asuncion Casanova, 50 told Reuters. "I used to think Zapatero was an exciting character, with purpose and ideas, but now, no way."
Flanked by Popular Party (PP) councilors from the Basque Country conservative opposition leader Mariano Rajoy marched behind a banner declaring, "Spain for freedom. No more concessions to ETA."
"The government had to twist the rules, trample on procedure and trick the Spanish to free an insatiable terrorist," Rajoy told the crowd.
"They are demands the terrorists imposed on the government to prove its goodwill. This is the toll the government has paid to negotiate. ETA doesn't want peace, it's looking for victory."
The PP leader billed the mass rally as the most important demonstration in Spain's 30-year democracy.
The government called off the peace process after ETA shattered a nine-month ceasefire by bombing Madrid airport in late December, killing two people.
ALL OUT ATTACK
Though government opponents have repeatedly taken to the streets in the past year, Saturday's protest is the first to be organized by the PP. Commentators say that is a further sign the PP has moved to all-out attack over Zapatero's handling of the Basque conflict -- formerly an area of bipartisan consensus. "

There is this news program in the USA, called 60 Minutes.
And on that news program, last Sunday, a story aired that might be of some interest.
(Video player requires Flash Player.)
A few points of clarification:
It isn't just me, this is a team effort.
I've never actually attacked any web site - I just publish information which has lead service providers to make an informed decision to discontinue services to various web sites. Sometimes I deliver that information myself. Most of the time I leave that work to volunteers.
I didn't quit my day job, I was laid off, and I turned that into an opportunity to make a business out of my counter-terrorism 'hobby'. That was in 2003, and it took about nine months to get the business up and running well enough to keep me employed full time.
There is a certain truth to the rodeo clown analogy, just keep in mind that there is a reason why people have nightmares about clowns.
This is a high-risk enterprise. If you are not sure how you will respond to being on the receiving end of gunfire, look elsewhere for gainful employment.

Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that corporate owners of websites that share user-posted videos should take action to remove jihadi propaganda. (Introduced in House)
HRES 224 IH
110th CONGRESS
1st Session
H. RES. 224
Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that corporate owners of websites that share user-posted videos should take action to remove jihadi propaganda.
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
March 7, 2007
Mr. SHUSTER submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce
RESOLUTION
Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that corporate owners of websites that share user-posted videos should take action to remove jihadi propaganda.
Whereas since the World Wide Web's public release in 1991, the Internet has evolved into a revolutionary tool to facilitate the free access and distribution of information instantaneously and electronically to peoples all over the world;
Whereas the Internet has created a global community that has become the cornerstone of commerce, speech, and culture for the Twenty-first Century;
Whereas jihadi terrorist organizations throughout the world have taken advantage of the Internet's anonymity, low cost, and lack of regulation to raise funds as well as radicalize, recruit, and train potential members to join their organizations and participate in violent jihad against the West;
Whereas terrorist organizations including Al-Qaeda have organized media operations such as as-Sahab, Sawt al-Khilafa (Voice of the Caliphate), and the Global Islamic Media Front (GIMF) to create and distribute jihadi propaganda and training materials on the Internet;
Whereas jihadi terrorist media operations continue to utilize video and media sharing websites such as YouTube, Liveleak, Google Video, and others to spread their message of hate, propagandize their insurgent operations, and facilitate the training of prospective terrorists;
Whereas the use of the Internet by jihadi organizations who seek the destruction of America has been identified by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM); as well as private organizations including the SITE Institute (Search for International Terrorist Entities), the Society for Internet Research, and the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) as a major threat to American troops, homeland security and our success in the Global War on Terror;
Whereas social networking video distribution websites generally reserve the right to remove objectionable material; and
Whereas many websites have recognized the threat these videos pose and have taken steps to remove them from circulation: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That it is the sense of the House of Representatives that--
(1) terrorists view the Internet as a key tool in their ongoing jihad to recruit members, spread information, and distribute propaganda for their cause, and, in doing so, they have turned the World Wide Web into a new battleground in the War on Terror;
(2) in a time of war, terrorist videos amount to enemy communications;
(3) while Congress should not regulate the Internet, the owners of websites that share user-posted videos should exercise proper corporate governance and take steps to remove enemy propaganda from their sites;
(4) if the owners of these website suspect that a user on their site is a member of or affiliated with a known terrorist organization, they should cooperate with law enforcement and the intelligence community to report questionable postings; and
(5) Congress recognizes and applauds the work of the SITE Institute, the Society for Internet Research, the Middle East Media Research Institute and others for their work in combating online jihad and creating a resource for public education of the terrorist's use of the Internet in the War on Terror.

(Islamist TErrorist) Group warns Germany and Austria to quit Afghanistan
Reuters ^ | march 10, 2007 | Reuters

DUBAI, March 10 (Reuters) - An Islamist group called on Germany and Austria on Saturday to withdraw their troops from Afghanistan to prevent attacks against the two countries.
"Why would you (Germany) want all this (economic interests) threatened for the sake of Bush and his band?" the Voice of the Khalifate said in a video posted on an Islamist Web site used by militants, including al Qaeda.
"Isn't it stupid to encourage the mujahideen to launch attacks in your country?"
The speaker pointed out that Austria relied on tourism for an important part of its revenue, adding: "This situation would change if there is a security threat and Austria becomes a country targeted by the mujahideen."
The tape also featured a portion of an old video of al Qaeda's deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahri.
It appeared on the same day, on the same Web site, as a video issued by a little-known militant group in Iraq which said it would kill two hostages, a German woman and her son, in 10 days unless Berlin withdrew its troops from Afghanistan.
Germany opposed the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq but has around 3,000 troops in Afghanistan as part of a NATO force stationed there since U.S.-led troops in 2001 toppled the Taliban, which had harboured al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
"Austria has no interest in such a war ... which is a war between the Mujahideen and America and whoever aligns itself with it," said the masked speaker on the Arabic-language Khalifate video, which carried German subtitles.
In Vienna, an Austrian Defence Ministry spokesman said his country had just five officers in Afghanistan and was not planning to send more troops. (Additional reporting by Karin Strohecker in Vienna)

ANd if they give in, this is just the beginning of the terrorists blackmailing the world, especially if Iran finished developing their nukes and we withdraw from Iraq, as the Dems want.
Isn't it interesting that the Dems and terrorists always want the same thing?
And shouldn't our Priority #1 be to take back control of Congress from the Democrats and make sure we will NOT have a Dem President?
There IS a connection.
