From the article:
The Ahmed's cousins were allegedly in a plot to wage "violent jihad" against Americans. Plot leaders are charged with locating training sites, and providing instruction in firearms, explosives and hand-to-hand combat.
hmmmm...Marwan el-Hindi, Kahleel Ahmed, and Zubair Ahmed.
I see those Illinois Amish are acting up again.
Thank you, Lord!
It must have been a humdinger of a meeting. ;-)
I'd love to see a picture of a medic checking UBL for lice as they did Saddam.
LOL. That would be a sight to see.

Middle Eastern men released (TX)
Thoughts of a terror bust subsided in Andrews, as two men of Middle Eastern background were released after being held for several hours.
The men were taken into custody Thursday after attempting to purchase a number of prepaid cell phones from an Andrews Dollar General store, Chief Bud Jones of the Andrews Police Department said. The men were held for between four and five hours.
FBI and Immigration and Naturalization Services officials from Midland were brought in while the men were questioned, Jones said.
The two men, who said they were brothers from Palestine, were determined to be in the country legally, Jones said.
One did have a lengthy criminal history, he said.
(snip)
The incident came a day after a man and woman, also reported to be Middle Eastern, had a disagreement in the same Dollar General, Jones said. The couple, driving a rental vehicle out of Houston, left the area before police could question them.
A regional notice was placed in case the couple turns up in another town, Jones said.(snip)

Amen!
Snip: The number of Internet sites has exploded since 9/11. Its estimated there are 5,000 today. Custer says anyone watching them could actually believe the U.S. is on the run.
Snip: Private terrorism like Al Qaeda, or other groups, they are private, they dont belong to any country, they dont have passports, they dont have nationalities for nuclear technology you go to a private companies. This is globalisation. This is the new world.
The first nuclear age was about great powers facing off against each other. It was terrifying, but at least everybody knew the rules. In the second nuclear age, in the world of A.Q. Khan, there is no return address, there is no deterrence. The bomb could come in a backpack, in a briefcase, in an oxcart. In the second nuclear age, were seeing the privatisation of the atomic bomb, the outsourcing of the bomb. Its a much more frightening world.....
JI rebounds more dangerous than ever
Snip: "Each day the number of people performing jihad is growing - Praise be to God!" the handbook boasts. It describes a six-month process for forming a cell. It instructs that recruits must be screened during the "character forming ages" of 12 to 18 and pass a "due diligence test", which includes proselytising, intelligence gathering, using the internet and identifying security systems. Those who have studied engineering can apply for lessons in bomb-making.
The Salt Lake City murders, a Jihad?
Snip: The FBI and mainstream media have all but ruled out the murders had any link to terrorism. My research has revealed the FBI set the investigation to reach this conclusion from the beginning. It is no national secret that the FBI inserts itself into any criminal act that looks as though it will gain national attention. My sources suggest that the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) relied on the FBI at the outset to provide them with guidance on how to conduct an investigation that may have ties to terrorism. From that point, things have not proceeded in a professional manner.
The first mistake the FBI made was not insisting the computer of Sulejman Talovic be seized. This, despite the fact that there is ample evidence Talovic was savvy with computers. To take the computer days later simply means the evidence could have been tampered with and lost forever. (Update: Now we're told by the SLCPD that the 18-year-old had no computer. Are we to believe he had no access to one anywhere?) The FBIs second mistake was to pre-judge the results of the investigation and to quickly inform the mainstream media that terrorism did not appear to be the motivating factor in Talovics killing spree. This in spite of the fact that this young man who apparently had few friends and no computer got his hands on weapons prohibited to an 18-year-old without his family's knowledge.
Snip: They surrounded a house where they thought al-Masri was hiding, captured a guy whom they thought was him and who had singed off his own fingerprints to obscure his identity and yet it wasnt him?
THANK YOU for that update freeperfromnj.
I do appreciate it.
Ditto.
That is great news HipShot.
Thanks for the update.
Rest and take care of yourself, exSoldier.
THANK YOU for that cell phone-related post, Velveeta.

"Illini Football Players Kicked Off Team"
By DAVID MERCER Monday, March 05, 2007
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "URBANA, Ill. - Illinois football players Jody Ellis and Derrick McPhearson _ accused of stealing wallets, cell phones and laptop computers _ were kicked off the team Monday just hours after pleading not guilty to felony burglary and theft charges.
"This kind of behavior will not be tolerated. It is not only disrespectful to this football team, but to the University of Illinois, as well," coach Ron Zook said.
"We will act right and we will obey the law. Period."
The two wide receivers were arrested Friday night after police found suspected stolen wallets, cell phones, electronic devices and at least six laptop computers inside Ellis' car, Champaign police Chief R. T. Finney said Monday.
Ellis and McPhearson, both 20, pleaded not guilty to four counts each of residential burglary and two counts each of theft of property and requested jury trials. After hearing the players' pleas, Champaign County Circuit Court Judge John R. Kennedy set a pretrial hearing for April 10."
A_D, we bought a couple of blankets that plug into the cigarette lighter. I "tested" the blankets on a long road trip recenty and they work beautifully. Wanted to spread the word these blankets are available and could be a lifesaver in frigid winter weather conditions alone.....
Syria ready with bio-terror if US hits Iran
Snip: An American biodefense analyst living in Europe says if the U.S. invades Iran to halt its nuclear ambitions, Syria is ready to respond with weapons of mass destruction specifically biological weapons.
"Syria is positioned to launch a biological attack on Israel or Europe should the U.S. attack Iran," Jill Bellamy-Dekker told WND. "The Syrians are embedding their biological weapons program into their commercial pharmaceuticals business and their veterinary vaccine-research facilities. The intelligence service oversees Syria's 'bio-farm' program and the Ministry of Defense is well interfaced into the effort."

A STAFF REPORTER
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "He had masterminded several mobile thefts in the past eight months. But luck ran out for 24-year-old Rabi Singh, a mobile snatcher, on Sunday night, when he was caught red-handed by a team from New Market police station.
On Sunday night, Rabi escaped after snatching a mobile phone from a businessman, Tarun Ghoshal, on SN Banerjee Road."
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Chatterjee said: Rabi was arrested and Ghoshals mobile phone was seized from him. He was the kingpin of a five-member gang that used to target cellphone-owners at night. He was involved in a number of recent cellphone thefts.
He added that Rabi and his gang members operated mainly in the New Market, Park Street and Sudder Street areas.
Three gangs are active in this zone. For the past six months, we have been getting reports of some youths, even women, involved in a number of mobile theft cases. After a theft, they return to their hideouts on the fringes and surface after a fortnight or so. Raids are on to nab other gang members, an officer of the thana said."
