You could also ask "IS DRIVING CONSERVATIVES OUT OF THE GOP GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY? THOUGHT-PROVOKING MUST-READ FOR RUDY-LOVERS."
Hey... this guy's trying to right the tone of discourse here on FR for everyone.
Subsequently, the Great Society and the McGovern movement drove the social conservatives into the GOP camp. It was these Reagan Democrats who made the GOP a majority. Now the Rudybots are doing all in their power to throw us out so they can return the party to the glory days of Gerald Ford and Nelson Rockefeller. If Rudy gets the nomination, they will have succeeded.
As a despised moderate, my feelings are hurt.

Then of course one could come to the realization that either way means putting the Democrats in power for a long long time.
"It seems to be a historical lesson lost on some of the "I'll take my marbles and go home if I don't like a candidate crowd.""
That maybe, but the crowd you refer to are fed up with being lied to and told "Just support us and we'll help you" only to get shafted once again.
Never again
No, it's not.
I've seen a lot of comment's directed at driving RUDY-LOVERS out of the Republican Party and off FR. Liberals, traitors, sexually challenged, they don't belong, after all.
I've seen lots of threats by the RUDY-HATERS to leave the Republican Party. To stay home or vote third party. As many recomended in the 2006 election.
I'm sure there are some, but I haven't seen many posts suggesting that the RUDY-HATERS should leave the party.
Leave, fine, but the "we're the party and we're being driven out" is nothing but whining.
If the social conservative vote is the core of the Republican Party, all they have to do is show up and vote, Rudy won't have a chance. I'm surprised the RUDY-HATERS haven't figured that out.
I nominate you for, "FREEPER OF THE YEAR!!!!" Never a truer statement made on FR. I am wondering where the conservative GOP went.
The RINOs began a turf war, and now they cannot handle the answer that is now issuing forth from the conservative wing of the Republican party?
If the RINOs think they can win without 20 to 30 percent of the Republican electorate, then let them continue in their folly and may the best candidate for the nomination win! Let the competitions begin!
The RINOs want a pre-primary undertaking from the conservative Republican community that we will vote for Rudy? That is idiocy.
Conservatives will support conservative candidates for the nomination, and will do everything in their power to have a conservative candidate for president.
That's what primaries are about. And if the Rudy Rotorooters can't take the heat inherent in the contest, then they can simply take their toys and leave, AND , Republicans will still win the 2008 election without them.
