Last evening, as I watched the Superbowl with my nine year old son, I became extremely annoyed at the MARS Corporation and their advertisement for Snickers which showed two guys locking lips. I can't even fathom why somebody thought that this would be a good advertisement for that particular product and why they chose to air it during this event, especially when they knew children would be watching. If their aim was to draw controversy in the hopes of increasing sales, then I sincerely hope they missed their mark. I hope that, instead, they lose sales because of their idiocy.
I called in and registered my strong disapproval this morning at 1-908-852-1000. (If you call, when you get the phone tree, just press "0")
Our family will not be buying MARS products ... Products that MARS makes/distributes: M&M'S, SNICKERS, MARS bars, Milky Way, Skittles, and TWIX.
I'm giving up banana pudding for Lent..............
I was arguing with my family about Prince not being gay. I think that some were judging him based on his slight physique. I neglected to mention that when I was a teen I thought Prince to be one of the sexiest guys alive. (I kinda' still do...)
Thanks!
CBS had the commercials posted on their website last night - but the Snickers commercial was no where to be seen as of about 9 CST
Good grief. I hope you never need to give or receive mouth to mouth resuscitation. But if you must receive it I hope it's from a big hairy beast of a man who winks at you when he's done.
Chevy is trying to sell only to metrosexuals.
You mean apart from the high heels, do-rag, make-up, and sequin suit. hehe. :)
It could have been worse. Just think if it was during a Packers/ Rams game ?
{head swaying hypnotically}
I won't be buying Snickers...I don't want to run the risk. So I look at the commercial as a welcomed warning on the part of the company of a risk buying their product carries.
Yes, that was disturbing, and the kids watching with me all cracked up when the guy was hit. So did I.
There was a commercial for a movie, and it was a great commercial, and at the end we all said, we have to see that movie, what was the name?
Then we all stared at each other, and realised we had no idea.
Now, that doesn't seem like a very effective commercial.
As for the snickers commercial, it didn't bother me except that after the commercial, for the rest of the game the 9-year-old girl who came over to watch with my 10-year-old kept turning to him and saying "accidentally kissed", and they would both crack up.
ARGH! and I was JUST going to wander over to the vending machine and get a Snickers. Ick.
(No, I didn't watch the game, much less the ad.)
Having only lived in NC for 4 years, I'm not ready to give that one up yet.
Yeah, it must have been real tough to find two male Hollywood actors who would do that.
Prince made it on his own,he did'nt need no stinkin Idol.
Well I dunno what kind of crowd you hang with, but I've never seen a chick do that... ;)
Check out the post to which I was responding. I guess I needed a sarcasm tag.
Annoying isn't it? It's been going on a few years now. Betweeen the declining IQ's, and the persecution complexes the place is starting to remind me of a certain liberal website.
