I would have preferred the Cuban ensembles they had at the beginning of the game.

What was with the Aunt Jemima look he was going for.

As a Bears fan I'm getting sick of it. Yes did Grossman played some games that was bad, but tonights game is not his fault the Bears lost.. The defense played bad also..

I was for the Colts cause I can't stand Durbin or Obamma

LOL I'm a Bears fan and I forgot about Obamma guaranteeing a win...

makes the loss a bit less painful... ::: smile :::

People who know football say he showed enough to get one more year as a starter.

There is nothing about Griese to say he's better.

And if he had replaced Rex they still would have lost this game.

And if he had been the starter this season they probably would not have made the super bowl,

You do hate Rex if you want him benched or you don't know football.

He had 3 TOs today anyway. 2 INT and 1 fumble. The other fumble he recovered himself. The other fumble was Benson's.

Maybe there is a better QB out there. It aint Griese and we aren't getting another QB until after next season.

Dungee: "Doing it the Lord's way." Mass hysteria at ACLU! :)

I was expecting CBS to BLEEP it out. Perhaps they would have done so if "Jesus" was mentioned.

And her "Not fade Away" is ripping off the one who made that song, who's last performance was in my home town in 1959, Feb. 2nd...one Buddy Holly. Also killed that night, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson.

Indeed, "the day the music died." For a scum like Sheryl Crow to cover Buddy's song is sacrilege.

Coach Dungy again gave glory to the Lord - ESPN commentators, of course, cannot acknowledge such statements.

I heard that too on ESPN. I am even happier now that the Colts win. They are a great team who have great faith in our Lord.

I hate the Mavs. I hate their owner. Donald Trump is right about that at least.

Having myself had business dealings with Mark Cuban, I can comfirm the man is a complete asshole, and a liar as well.

If you actually knew the game you'd know Rex is a first year starter who had ups and downs this season and showed enough to be the starter next season.

He's also a free agent after the next season.

Thankfully for the Bears you aren't Lovie. Lovie is smart and not knee jerk.

It is true we wouldn't have lost the super bowl if Griese had replaced Rex as the starter this season. You can't lose a super bowl when you don't make it.

Okay name the other 25 teams the starter would start over Rex for 100 percent sure.

The only one who made it further than Rex did this year was Manning.

And name only those THAT HAVE PROVEN THEY ARE BETTER.

Rex in 22 starts had 5 bad starts in his first year as starter with the receiver and tight ends lacking somewhat.

"Does anyone know what happens to the hats and shirts of the team that does not win?"

Stupid Bear fans want to get rid of Grossman now. They don't know football and are happy tonight because the Bears lost.

I don't think I've said anything more than we could find someone better. all positions up for grabs in spring training... even though I'm assume you're not addressing your comments directly at me, I don't think the adjectives are necessary. kinda thought this was an opinion board...

Sure am glad to see Tony Dungy finally win a Superbowl. A good man, a class act, and unfairly had the "couldn't win the big one" tag for years. This really should be considered his second SB win as a coach, Gruden took Dungy's team to a win the year after Tony was fired. After his first season Tony had 5 winning seasons at Tampa Bay, but after Gruden's first year there 3 of the next 4 years Gruden's teams have had a losing record.

Mr. Skinnerville is not as smooth on TV as his wife.

How could they give the MVP to Manning? Grossman clearly had the most impact on the game. But it is kinda heartwarming to know how Peyton has inspired dorks across the country.

This year had many more good commercials, but none that were great. Sad robot stood out, Coke had some misses but at least they were creative and tried something different, and as usual most of the beer ones were funny. Especially the ESL class, auction wedding, ax & chainsaw (OK, it could be seen a mile away, but still was funny) and the best overall was probably the mud Dalmation smearing the beauty queen.

Dumbest commercial? Go-Daddy. Plastic-boobed collagen-lipped leather-skinned STD factories just don't do anything for me.

Yes, today had historical significance, but some of the PC a$$-kissing in the commercials got really old quick. Though I admit to being educated by the Coke/Doritos one before the half, we had no idea that apparently this was the first NFL game that African-American families were allowed to watch on TV.

Prince and the Florida A&M band totally blew the house down! Nothing will top U2 in 2001 (I'll never forget the aura of the 9/11 names scrolling to the ceiling during 'Where the Streets Have No Name') but this was probably the next best SB halftime show. EVAH! Awesome, and we also learned that Prince is the love child of Aunt Jemima and Little Richard. Kinda fitting that such an odd duck knocks out a halftime show when a goofball was winning the game. Prince's performance was awesome, and the weather only added to it.

Oh yeah, we got another nice game, too. Indy defense really stepped up in the post-season, and the Bears should be proud of how far they came without a QB. So which team was the last to beat Indy? Houston Texans! (But they'll be forever cursed for passing on Vince Young.)

Don't be shocked if the Cowboys make a play for Lovie Smith. They can probably get Rivera, but Chicago might just view him as the wonderboy and keep him over Smith (who grew up a couple hours east of Dallas and has said that Dallas is a dream job.) He'd be torn about leaving his players (unlike many phony ladder-climbing coaches,) still has a year on his contract (meaning Chicago would demand compensation,) and the Bears have said resigning him is their highest priority, so it might be a long-shot. Being a Cowboy-hater, I hope that they hire Norv Turner, because he will never win a SB as a head coach.

Dang how I hate when football season ends.

In the NFC you can name only 3 QBs who would definitely better than Grossman. Favre (whos 40+), Hasselback (and that's a bit open to debate) and Breese.

Not unless they did something before the game. I was not really paying attention as sports aren't my thing. Maybe another FReeper knows...

Yes they are. And isn't it refreshing? A nice conclusion to our football "madness" - so sweet.
