Awhile back, we came to our wonderful FR family and asked for prayer for little 2 year old Garrett. He had suffered a seizure and convulsions, and the doctors put him in a coma to let the seizures run their course. He came out of it after a couple of weeks, and has been in physical therapy ever since.
His daddy is in the Navy, and they bent over backwards to help this family with their needs.
Garrett and his mommy were flying from Phoenix back home to San Diego today when Garrett stopped breathing. They made an emergency landing in Yuma, but it was too late. Garrett just didn't make it.
The family is converging on Yuma now, and will be making arrangements in the next few days. I'd ask that those of you so inclined pray for Garrett's family, and mine. Many of you know my granddaughter; her mom and Garrett's mom are like sisters, and this has hit her hard.
Words escape me. My heart is broken. God bless this family.

It was just over a year ago that my son Jimmy passed away in a similar manner. He had been fighting epilepsy for over two years, with the best medical attention we could get for him. One afternoon, he suffered a severe seizure, we called 911, and he stopped breathing while he was in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Despite the best efforts of the EMTs and doctors, they could not get him to start again. I do understand what the family is going through, as I am on that same painful journey.
I have some information on support groups, books and so forth that have been helpful to us. Please FReepmail me if you would like any of that or just to chat with someone who has been through a similar situation.

I'm so sorry to hear this; what a beuatiful little boy. Prayers for his family. He is now a beautiful cherub.
I take care of a lot of little angels; they are sent to us to grace us with their presence for a while; they bring us pure hearts and pure grace.
But they are not meant to stay for long, and those that love them grieve, but they have truly been blessed to have had them in their lives, if even for such a short time.

Thank you...they are surrounded in prayer now, and I believe that will bring them comfort.
Their family is so much larger, thanks to good people like yourself.
As tears roll down my cheeks a prayer for this little angel and his family is being send right now.
