I'm angry. I'm angry at the 'antiwar' protesters who heaped abuse on our troops. And I'm angry at the people who couldn't be bothered to stand up for our troops yesterday.
Tens of thousands of anti-American leftists and their dupes marched on our nation's capital calling for America's defeat in the war on terror in Iraq.
Only about forty people could be bothered to turn out in support of America's victory in Iraq. Among those forty was a civilian POW held by the North Vietnamese communists and several Iraq war veterans--including wounded warriors who left the hospital to stand up for their brothers in arms on the home front.
Why did former POW Mike Benge and Iraq vet Joshua Sparling only find a few dozen people willing to stand with them? Why, as the anti-American left is heading toward repeating their victory in Vietnam, are so many people sitting on their asses and doing nothing to stop them?
Why, when Joshua Sparling was spat on, cursed at and threatened by 'peace marchers', were there so few people there to defend his honor?
Why was Jane Fonda allowed to desecrate the Navy Memorial and only face token opposition?
Why did Mike Benge see thousands more people showing up to cheer Jane Fonda than there were to denounce her?
Those who were there to support these patriots will be posting their observations and photos on this thread. I've said my piece.

Thank you for everyone who did show up. I can only make to DC a few times a year. I will also admit that I don't go out of town a lot when I have a son deployed.
Expect to see more of that in coming months. If you don't recall how it went during Vietnam, stick around - it's going to happen this time, too. Because not enough of "the silent majority" give a damn.
Video will be up in a couple of days.
Well, my excuse is that I'm out of the country. But honestly, kristinn, I see this endeavor as hopeless. It always takes a crisis or a deep shock to the system -- whether it was Pearl Harbor, Sputnik or 9/11 -- to jolt the American people out of complacency. We wont reform our financially disastrous entitlement programs, we wont cut our oil dependence and we wont get serious about fighting terrorism until we're forced to by a crisis. In the case of the war of Iraq and our Mideast policies in general, I don't believe anything short of another 9/11 -- potentially nuclear next time -- will succeed in combatting the insidious treason of the left and the passivity of the general public. I'm simply waiting for the next terrorist attack. Everything between now and then is noisy distraction and leftists digging their own grave, as far as I'm concerned.
I'm not sure why there weren't any more College Pubs there. 20 of them showed up at Walter Reed's FReep several weeks ago, and it was 20 degrees colder.

You are right. But sometimes......arrrrrgggg!
Like the one Glenn Beck did at the beginning of this war
kristinn .. Thank you and the DC Chapter for being there
HAHAHAHA!!!
Been there, done that. Didn't happen. But, thanks for the laugh.
I know what you mean. They definitely tried the patience. Mean, nasty, angry little beasties they were.
For some reason our very presence seemed to enrage them. Go figure.
I see you are new here! BTW, rallying FOR the flag won't make a damn bit of difference if we do not have a country!
Well then, we know how this story will end.
Well, the "good" ones are doing a dang fine job!
Don't forget your West Coast rep!
EXACTLY RIGHT!!!!
NO Amendment covers spitting, PERIOD!
Spitting on someone else is ASSAULT, and if I witness assault, I WILL respond in kind, PERIOD!!!

If I had been closer, I would have attended. I posted to people in the Lake County, Indiana area to see if there might be some people who would be interested in joining me there to show our support for the troops, because the protesters are growing in numbers every Saturday but there was not one reply.
But what do we expect? If they won't vote to keep the Democrats out of power, then why on earth would we expect Stay at home Conservatives to get out of the bubble and stand up for their country and our Troops?
Yeah, I'm ticked. This is dangerous and I for one have not had such a concern for this country like I have at this time.
Thanks for representing the left coast, Sandy!
Hello?!
We were there. We watched them march by us - for two hours. I drove around their rally perimeter and saw the crowds with my own eyes. They had tens of thousands.
Whoever your "reliable sources" were are blowing smoke out of their butts with that 6-8k number.
Been there, done that. Did happen.
But, thanks for the laugh.
