A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Good Morning :) I know, we had a warm past couple of weeks and it dropped rapidly yesterday. 13 degrees tonight.
Global warming only happens when its hot out. ;) I remember Gore went to make a speech on global warming in NYC one winter. It had been one of the brutal, coldest of winters and there was a blizzard a day before. It was so funny to me. :)

Love that little doll! I had a Sheltie and she loved the snow and was such a lovable baby! I have had two in the last 25 years and don't want another as it hurts too bad when they die. Just can't take the hurt anymore! May change my mind if a good opportunity arises.

Thanks! This is so beautiful. Eye candy :) I wish I could have them here. I tried planting them one year. I thought they were coming up but it turned out to be weeds. LOL

I always say that when a beloved kitty dies..It takes awhile ...sometimes years..but then some kitty comes along and there I go again. They never "replace" but they do worm their way into my heart.
I haven't had a dog since my children were small..I lost one I had gotten as a puppy and just never managed to face it again.
She just broke my heart ..the vet called it a subclinical case of distemper..Even the vet was affected by this loss..We finally had to let go and have her put down..She had had all her shots so I was in shock..She was the sweetest boxer, almost a year old... and I adored her..I let her ruin my living room carpet when she could no longer hold her urine..It was cold outside and she was too sick and unsteady to let out..I never want to watch another so pitiful.

I tried bluebonnets once and had no luck..They don't like the enriched soil in a flower bed.

Still ice outside but it should melt later today. I feel your cold....truly I do. There is ice in our fountain again, this is the fourth or fifth morning in a row. We could use a little global warming here!

You have ice, too? Are you still in Texas?
We have snow over ice. It kept me home from work today.
People drive like idiots on ice here and Iwould have had a 20-mile drive to make on the same road with them! LOL!

I am just n of Houston at my daughter's. .We have been cold but without all the ice and snow that is hurting most of Texas..I know my house is sitting amidst ice , perhaps a bit of snow in Central Texas..The view is beautiful at the back when that happens but I am glad I missed it!
Smart to stay home today, LUV.

My brother lives South of Houston near the ship channel and he said that they had predicted ice and sleet there. Did it happen at all? I haven't heard from him today.
He sent me a great picture of the Christmas snow they had last year. It was a real phenomenon.
