The most likely charges would concern Nifong's withholding of DNA evidence favorable to the defense, Metzloff said. The director of a private laboratory testified that he and Nifong agreed not to report that tests had found DNA from unidentified men in and on the accuser.

The fact that she had DNA from multiple men not at the party strongly indicates there was probably a conspiracy to commit fraud on part of this woman and her boyfriend(s).

--oops...--

(from the article) Nifong told ABC TV. "My guess is that some of this stonewall of silence that we had seen may tend to crumble once charges start to come out."

OOPS!!!!!!!!

ETHICAL VIOLATIONS?????!!!! Hell, what did and continues to do is downright criminal. If you or I did these things, we sould be before a judge and jury. This guy belongs in jail. He needs to be held to the same standards and laws that we are. What does it take to get a corrupt politician indicted?

From Article: Cheshire wrote in his letter that on March 29, he had his paralegal, Moira Bitzenhofer, call Nifong's office to set up a meeting so the defense lawyer could talk to the prosecutor either in person or on the phone. Nifong, through his assistant, Sheila Eason, declined to talk with Cheshire.

But Nifong would and did meet with members of the New Black Panthers.

The 60 Minutes report from yesterday is online at the CBS website.

The segment with the parents showed that they are now going to be Nifong's worst nightmare.

[Good for them. They need to ruin his life and career just like he did those 3 young guys.]

The interview with the DNA expert made him out to be either an idiot or a complicit partner-in-crime. The guy didn't even have a good lie about what he did. Just said 'it was a mistake.'

According the parents in the 60 Minutes report, Nifong knew the DNA did not match the 3 Lacrosse players several days before he filed charges against them. They wondered what basis he had for filing charges, as, apparently, he or police investigators have ever even interrogated the 3 accused.

One professor commented that Nifong dug a hole, and when he found the case falling apart, he kept digging.

Of course this doesn't say much for his voting constituency, but as it appears that topic is not Poltically Correct and will be walled off like the crazy aunt who is locked in the basement.

That gets away from the spur of the moment defense, that 'I just went with it, I really didn't mean it, I was caught up in the emotion of the moment,' " Metzloff said.

Metzloff might want to amend this. He was caught up in the emotions of the moment:

Rensentment
Anger
Rage
Contempt

This is a insigfnificant little man who quit the Amimal Control Board because all were not with him. An instanceof: "If you are not with me, you are against me"

This is a insigfnificant little man rumored to monitor the blogs and supposedly stated he will extract his pound of flesh.

This is a insigfnificant little man finally out of traffic court and sitting in the big boy's chair.

This is a insigfnificant little man who first took Freda Black's parking space and then fired her.

Mikey is ruled by his emotions. He knew that if Freda won the election he had no job. What he could have done from there did not matter. He knew his job was at stake.

I'd be willing to bet if Freda won the DA race, there would be a dramtic shift in courthouse dynamics. I think many in Durham were afraid the status quo would be upset if Freda won the election.

Remember how Nifong suddenly clammed up after giving umteen dozen interviews? That was about the time the bar opened this case.

I worked for an attorney in Washington state once that had been censured by the state bar association for things he said, while a county prosecutor, about the accused, during the trial!!! That just shows you they have limits and this a-hole crossed the line.

The bar case aside, I think his biggest problem may be with the feds. Nifong has violated the rights of the LAX accused and could be slapped down by the feds. His actions appear to be intentional and involve a possible conspiracy (withheld lab results)

I believe that Mr. Nifong, the President of Duke University, The Duke University endowment, the Duke 88, the new Black Panther Party and Jesse Jackson could all be lighter in the pocket book when all is said and done.

I think Nifong is a victim of that "Monkeys Paw" thing. He wished to be DA and got it, sort of.

Reminds me of the guy in the Twilight Zone episode that wished to be "Ruler for life" of a country and, POOF, He was Hitler, in a bunker, with a bottle of poison.

Come to think of it, he is also a little like Chick after winning the big race at the end of Cars.

Nifong has made few public comments after winning the [Democrat] primary May 2.

He didn't need to. He only needed to play the race card and boost his numbers among black voters to win the Democrat primary.

What happens to his (Nifong) previous cases now? Review, appeal, anything?
