Well...it was coming. A LONG TIME coming.
Good news.
About time.
IMO, the most serious violation was concealing exculpatory evidence. Looks like somebody else is going to have to file on that one.
The sequel to Bonfires of The Vanities.
Disbarment gets my vote, since execution isnt an option.
The AP is turning on Nifong as evidenced by the recharacterization of the woman's occupation from dancer to stripper.
Nothing about the DNA results in the entire article!
There is more than that. He should be disbarred for deliberately trying to put innocent people in jail in order to further his career.
'bout time!
Now we need the federal equivalent filed against Fitzpatrick for the Plame "outing."
Both of these cases have wasted a ton of taxpayer dollars.
They're upset with him for saying something AGAINST the accuser? Sheesh.

This one has more news in it than the earlier posts.
"In a statement, the bar said it opened a case against Nifong in March 30, a little more than two weeks after the party."
So, they have been proceeding quietly for some time. I would guess there are several reasons for making the proceeding public at this time. The most obvious is that Nifong was recently exposed as conspiring to conceal exculpator evidence from the defence and lying to the judge about it.
I also would guess that this might be added as an additional charge to the earlier ones. I don't know what the rules are in these proceedings, but presumably it would be possible to open additional charges as new discoveries are made.
He definitely deserves admonishment for those statements. He deserves disbarment for malicious prosecution.
Whoops ... there goes yer' pension, Mikey ... and your freedom, and ... well ... that'll do ........ for starters.
I think the bar is giving a hint to the judge to file contempt charges against him for the DNA lies he told.
check the dna on the new baby. probably nifong, too.
