Bush is going down in the polls...
Bush owes Republicans NOTHING.
Agreed. Wish he'd talked to we commoners more, though.
Even dead, Reagan would be a better president than W.
As much as I dislike Rumsfeld being gone, I cannot imagine what would happen if Rumsfeld had to continue his current duties and also go through what surely would be continuous stress of "hearings." If he goes thru the hearings now, at least there is someone totally in charge of the DOD. How do you know it was truly the President's decision?
And for goodness sakes, what is he to do with the Dems now? He has to play ball with them. He's being gracious, which is true to his character.

I support Bush. I have since the start on the war against Islamic Excremists. I will continue as long as he keeps up the good work on that front and I believe he has and will. It was actually because of Bush that I voted straight ticket Republican for the first time in my life. I did vote for Reagan my first presidental election, but even then it wasn't Republican across the board.
Newsweak...lemme guess- they spotted him flushing korans down the potty???
"check the internals, MAJOR oversample of RATS!"
Same line we heard all up until the elections. Turns out those polls were right.
"He flat out lied about keeping Rumsfeld. I find that hard to accept. "
Hard to dispute that.
Don't be surprised if next week Newsweek predicts that Bush will not be reelected in '08.
I love President Bush.
I do too. I don't care if the numbers go to minus 31. In the days of Lincoln and Washington they didn't have these polls. If you can poll something you can screw it up.
Not content to spend like LBJ, start a war that will end badly, lose not only the House but the Senate too, now he wants to throw open the border and grant amnesty and the vote to tens of millions.
Other than these little irritants, I love him too.
No. "The polls" were not right.
Some polls were right. Newsweek definitely was not right. They wildly overstated the Democrat advantage on the generic ballot at +16%. CNN's poll had it plus 20%
When the dust was settled, the Democrat's had 7% more of the vote for House candidates than Republicans did, which is exactly what the ABC and Gallup polls were predicting.
Well, it's all part of the drumbeat on impeachment. They didn't miss a beat. What are the odds? Will Conyers start it up in 10 or 15 minutes from the time they assume the majority in January? How many RINOS will go along with it?
Isn't that precious. You get a "toaster". We get Meximerica.
The polling always ovesamples RATS. We know that for a fact. This year it predicted a win and they got it. Lame Stream Media is fawning over themselves and auto-eroticating themselves (yeah, I made that a verb, so what)and beginning to believe the lie.
Problem is that it was right not because they turned out RATS but because CONS stayed home in protest.
In a few years you will hear about how accurate the polls were "last time" and once again they will screw the pooch when the CONS show up, if they show up, if the GOP gives us out party back. IMO
Don't worry, his poll numbers will pick up as soon as he starts being the yes man for the democrats. Has to save his place in history. So we may as well prepare ourselves. He'll call it his 'new tone in Washington' or 'working with the democrats' but we will know what it really is.
you wrote..... who flunked writing.
maybe I am one of those dumb people john kerry was talking about who would be sent to iraq
however i did suffer a stroke while ago so maybe you should check about what a stroke can do to you and get back to me i didn't know that i was being tested on free republic and everyone was a road scholar i hope that makes you feel better about yourself
I'm not sure that's true. Given the fact that "wartime conditions" didn't stop voters from ousting Republicans this week - in fact, Iraq was a big reason the GOP lost - if we're not out by 2008, the GOP could take another hit at the polls.
