I about ready to stop funding this bs. This is like paying a spoiled child to insult you and destroy your home.
Are you nuts? I want him to lay on the charm until she's turned into a fluttery school girl who can't remember a thing she'd intended to do to him.

When was that? I certainly don't believe that the electorate made that statement on Tuesday.
Remember the stupid line from the 1960s? "What if they gave a war and nobody came?"
We're about to find out.
In 1975, after Saigon fell, the good troops bailed as fast as they could. The recruits that came in were the dregs of society--criminals, drug abusers, headcases, you name it. We had a hollow military that would've fallen apart in its first real test. Thank God, it wasn't, and then Reagan came along and began rebuilding it.
This time, it's going to fall apart in the middle of a war.

I said "careful Mr president," See? I am thinking ahead!... I am giving him a fair friendly warning.
Further more, I know... we have several levels of admiration/love for the president... we know that. The ones who think "he walks on water." (nothing wrong with that!) but I am not one of them... I give him credit and support him when it counts - as in this election...(I kept my mouth shut and said nothing to hurt it). When he messes up, I say it. Is that so bad? :)

That's very sad, and I hope it's not true everywhere. People who join a volunteer military, when there are much safer things to do, are not likely to be quitters. The real quitters are the Republican congressional leaders (esp. Senators) who wallowed in pork and pursued egomaniacal personal agendas at the expense of Party and national unity on the war. For all his faults, Bush sticks by what he believes. It's hard to tell what Hagel, McCain, Graham, and their ilk believe in, other than self-glory.
That seems like common sense to me.
Mystery, did you get whatever the statement was from the President and Cabinet? I must've blinked and missed it. I still have no idea what it was.
And if you leave, who wins? Certainly not those of us who stay behind and fight to bring this place back to normal.

BUT, it's time for these Republicans to start their own guerilla warefare. We've had it from the Dems all this time.
What is there to loose? The MSM will blame them for everything anyway.
That's truer than anyone will realize for awhile. They trust their guts...I know some who have decided not to re-up because of Tuesday's results.
They also worry that Charlie Rangle will get his draft- not one of them agrees with the draft...unless there is a catastrophic war.

I think most people vote for what they perceive to be the lesser of two evils with quite a bit of self-interest involved.
