My wife just called and notified me that our son-in-law just passed away.
He was 34 years old and it appears that he either had a heart attack or a stroke.
There are complications, my wife is in Flint, Michigan on business, my son-in-law passed away in Jackson, Missouri and I am in Pekin, Illinois. My wife can't get a flight to St.Louis, rent a car and get there as fast as she can by driving straight through.
I am waiting for my son and then I will drive down there and join her. None of us have had any sleep but we have to get down there to be with our daughter.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Sorry for your loss. I hope your trips go safely and I suspect you will all be running on adrenalin for awhile but eventually you will all have to get some rest.
May I offer some advice? Don't fight it. While you and your wife are going to be comforting your daughter, please remember that you are mourning, too, and that in some ways parents suffer a double whammy in situations like this: hurting for their own loss and also hurting for their child's hurt. It's going to take a lot out of you and your wife. Be careful and make allowances for yourselves in what you say and do and think. Don't take anything you say to each other too seriously right now.

Oh, my Illinois compadre, I'm so sorry. My prayers are with you, Joy and the family. I can't tell you how sympathetic I am. I'm just at a loss for words. Prayers from my heart.
I know I speak for all those who had the pleasure of cruising with you and Joy on FReeps Ahoy 5 last spring. Our hearts go out to you. You are the nicest people in the world and it's so sad this had to happen.
Bless you and pray the Lord will give you strength and calm.

May the God of All Grace and Comfort hold your daughter close, that she may endure the agony of her heart. May His Presence be felt by each who mourn the passing of your son-in-law, and may all of you be strengthened by His Promise, that He is with you always, even unto the end of the age.

Please consider taking a bus, train, or waiting a couple of hours for a flight, rather than a long trip by car when in this condition...
Prayers for you and yours...!
