According to Republicans in America, who have a well-balanced sense of reality, it's a fantasy, this "October Surprise."

..I'm almost a Florida native having lived here 31 years....

..and it is a lovely place, but we have our share of snakes....really nasty snakes..

..plus other assorted critters, like alligators!...(which I've found in my own back yard, as I live on a small lake)

Years ago I was living in Okinawa when there was an extreme water shortage. Because of the lack of pressure in the empty water pipes, all sorts of vermin sneaked in through the cracks into the system.

Here is one similar to the one I found reaching up for me as I was sleepily sitting down on the toilet at 3 AM. I fortunately happened to look down just as I as I sat down. Needless to say, my scream woke everybody in the house.

Some of my friends have been in Florida. Great place for a vacation, but too hot and humid for me.

Your alligators would probably not survive a typical Norwegian Summer.

We do have our share of huge mosquitos. They can make your life utterly miserable, but will not kill you.

Thanks for the ping. I wonder what kind of python it was. If it really was six feet long, it might have been some kind of burmese or reticulated python. Those aren't the kind that I keep. Some pythons are pretty valuable. Imagine opening the toilet lid to find something worth a couple of thousand dollars.
