Rush reports that a Cessna has been reported as crashing into (at least one) apartment complex in NYC Mannhattan's upper east side - on East 71st Street.

I've found that the best way to follow these stories is to get the basic news of the event occuring, then go away and forget about it for at least 48hrs. By this time the dust has cleared, the blathering talking heads and network ninnies have shut up and the steady stream of half-baked theories and third hand information has finally abated.
People have been identified, backgrounds checked and some basic facts start to emerge.
Right now, the crazies are having a field day.

I hope you're right that this is an accident. But, remember, the whole idea of terrorism is not just to kill but to TERRORIZE. I have many friends who live in Manhattan high-rises and I'm sure they will not sleep well tonight or in the weeks to come.

When I first heard this, a lady was talking about "terrorists probably did it", and all I could do was shake my head - the fact that people automatically assume that (hopefully most don't at FR, but some do, I know), means the terrorists have people like that scared - that's a mental victory for the terrorists, unfortunately.
Actually in the case of much of FR, it's that people WANT it to have been terrorism - need to get to NOOK MECCA, etc.

Some FReepers have airplane websites to get more info. I just do not have them.
