S. Korea detects signs of N. Korea's nuke test
SEOUL, Oct. 9 (Yonhap) -- South Korea received intelligence on Monday that North Korea might have conducted a nuclear test, officials here said.
"President Roh Moo-hyun called in an emergency meeting of related ministers on Monday to discuss the North Korean nuclear issue," Foreign Ministry spokesman Choo Kyu-ho said. "The meeting comes as there has been a grave change in the situation involving the North's nuclear activity."
He refused to go into further detail, citing the sensitivity of the issue.

Assuming it was a fairly small test of 5 kt, and not knowing the supposed time, you likely wouldn't be able to note anything just looking at seismograms on the internet.

Impossible!! Jimmy Carter and Madeline Half-bright gave me their personal assurances that they had talked the Mad Troll of Pyongyang out of this nuclear weapons program.
Bill Clinton
This could not have happened if I were President.
John "Vichy" Kerry
I keep telling Kim Jong Il that he should be more concerned about global warming than about nuclear weapons.... I just don't understand why he won't listen to me!

And if nothing drastic will happen to them, this will be a major encouragement to Iran.

"Assuming it was a fairly small test of 5 kt, and not knowing the supposed time, you likely wouldn't be able to note anything just looking at seismograms on the internet." Incorrect. The seismic for the torpedo explosion onboard Russia's Kursk sub showed two munitions kicking off, and that was conventional explosives.

If they did we would be the first to know about it and the first to detect it, we shall wait till the morrow and see what our government will say about it.

Everyone ? what is your take on this ? or opinion as to what the electorate ( voters ) will do now in light ( no pun intended ) of this news ?
Will this help the Republicans ? or Democrats ?
The Dems will try to spin this saying that Bush had all these years to prevent North Korea from getting nukes.

$.75 worth of well directed lead would be a start, I'd splurge for the $1.50 for six Special.
