CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.
Developing...
Elvis was a lucky man, too bad he wasted away.
That's a very important point, if only to illustrate the difference between how Republicans and Democrats deal with this kind of story. Foley resigned from Congress before most of us even knew why he resigned.
Watching Rove play the media and democrats like a fiddle is like listening to Stravinsky.
Second, what are names of the party operatives that got these IMs?
Third, what did Nancy Pelosi know and when did she know it?
I wouldn't trust anyone who wears a black shirt with a light colored tie.
If she didn't like Loui.... Hastert should recommend Ken Starr to investigate it.
I suspect the page hired the lawyer after he realized what deep do do he was in because of the prank. After all, if you and your buddies played a prank years ago you might be rather surprised when your target loses his job over it later.
I heard it on MSNBC.
Nancy said NO!
No wonder he hired a lawyer.
Knowing the kid I wouldn't describe him as conservative. Opportunist yes, conservative no!
Bingo. Long live the Pajamahedin (US :-)
Check out my new tagline.
I can't keep up.
Can you keep up?
And STILL.....FOX reports nothing on this.
What IS interesting is that Shep hasn't mentioned this in at least 25 mins.
Wasn't it it just YESTERDAY that it was All Foley All The Time?
WE need to call
ABC
NBC
MSNBC
FNC
CNN
Tell them we want equal time on the truth on this story. NO DELAY!
And if this was a prank among pages that got in the wrong hands, then did whoever reported this know it was not innocent kids being being used by some sex predator?
If so, did they intentionally mislead, wanting people to think so?
True, but the way they hate Bush (and seem to be hoping to gain a government leadership post so they can impeach Bush like Billy Bubba was) makes me think they love the taste of cold revenge....served up at any election or not.
I e-mailed the Drudge Exclusive a few times to abc. I hope they get the hint. All should e-mail Drudge's exclusive to them.
