According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

It was the homophobic Pages that were preying on Foley, not Foley preying on the Pages. Yes, he was enticed by their IM's, but it was the Pages that led him on.
Still, as the adult, and one of the elite club of 535 Congressmen, he should have known better.

Only different in the sense you dod not know what the intern said first. If a cop were to type that he is a 14 year old girl who wanted to give the guy on the other side of the computer oral sex, it would indeed be deemed entrapment by a court. We do not know what the intern said first to elicit those responses from Foley and the intern was 18 at the time.
that gets into a grey area of the law - and to be honest, I don't think Foley's actions are going to be sheltered by the "entrapment" concept.

Don't forget: they were just as creepy on the side of the page as they were on Foley's replies.
I suspect young Jordan was a mole placed by Soros gang or more probably Hillarys gang. He described himself as a political operative on his bio on AOL. He is a despicable creep. But the dems are worse for putting him up to this. Foley didn't try to screw him, the Dems did screw him and now will leave him for dead.
He's a conservative who, along with his friends, was yukking it up and baiting Foley.

Rush said the kid handed them around to his friends among the pages, and they all had a good laugh. So there's a number of people who might have handed them around later. I assume he needs a lawyer because of all the trouble he caused, though I can't comment on possible charges.

Note I said he's TECHNICALLY a Repub. Also, this new wrinkle doesn't change the fact that Foley wrote what he wrwote, goaded or not.
The way I see it, FReepers are now bouncing off the OTHER wall on this story. It ain't over by a long shot, and pubbies ain't out of the woods by an equally long shot.

Foley couldn't help his gay self and walked right into it but the fact the former page was 18 at the time means Foley didn't do anything illegal but the former page may have.
I read that Foley is known among the Pages as "The Three Fs." "Foley the Fag from Florida."
Come'on. Who was that innocent when they were 16? I made the mistake of going to a gay man's place "for beers" when I was about 16 after a night of work in a restaurant. Really sucked because I had to walk home after he put the moves on me and I bolted. So yes, I guess I was pretty innocent, but I didn't give it up.
The part about luring him into it was somewhat obvious to me based on the responses from the page. I don't think "prank" cuts it. Nor do a think it was a mistake that they got into the "wrong" hands. JMHO, of course.
It does not help Foley that these guys set up some a lurid sting that he fell into. It does explain the racy language, but Foley should be gone.
I honestly think that it's time all gays in Congress be identified. If that's what they are, I want to know it before I cast a ballot.
It's time to out all closeted gays no matter the party.

Think so. Kind of like making a crank phone call only to find your actions displayed by a third party. What I think is funny is that I don't think the Dems involved realized it was a prank either.
I still think this "prank gone awry" explanation is not at all the entire story.
